2016 JKUR Auto Tranny Issue

Last week I noticed several times when I would put the Jeep in reverse it would take 5 or more seconds for the tranny so shift into reverse. Then I noticed that when highway driving and climbing a hill the Jeep would downshift fine but then hang and not want to go back into overdrive until I let off the accelerator. Driving home today I took off and the Jeep would not shift out of first. I manually shifted with the bump shift and that worked but I could only get to 3rd gear. No 4th or 5th. When I got to the next stop sign I shifted into neutral and back into drive. The Jeep drove fine from that point on except 1 hard downshift from 3rd to 2nd. the tranny temp was normal, I checked the fluids as soon as I got home - looked clean and was at normal levels.

Any ideas what the problem might be?

The only symptom that's normal is when downshifting and climbing a hill the majority of the time you have to let off the accelerator for it to shift back to O/D. For the other symptoms, take it in. It just might need a re-flash. Or, if that doesn't take care of it, there could be a problem with the solenoid packs or the valve body itself.

I've had my '16 JK since new and the transmission has never taken any time to go into reverse. There are no hills where I live so I can't comment on the downshifting. Something is definitely not working right. Like kik suggests, it could be with the solenoids or something in the valve body.

Looks like you'll have to take a trip to the dealer to get it sorted....
