2017 unlimited transmission issues

So, my 2017 unlimited Sahara has recently started cutting out and dying after putting it into gear. Took it to the dealership and they said it was probably the valve body. Changed it. Didn't fix it. Then the torque converter. After that, the engine light started to come on when I was driving it. They said it was low on transmission fluid (not sure why they didn't fill it to specs before sending it back home but ok)... filled it up, sent it home. Now, the engine light is back on. Started to shift hard then cut out. They have it now and said they called Chrysler and they "think" it was just a bad valve body... so they changed that again... anyone else dealt with this stuff happening? I'm not convinced that the new valve body is causing the issue.

All under warranty, right? Just let them keep playing the guessing game until they get someone to work on it that actually knows what they're doing... Usually, at some point the dealer will get tired of wasting time/money trying to guess at whats wrong and they'll call an "engineer" which is code for "someone that actually knows how to do their job" ..

When this type of sequence is going on, it is because the mechanics at the dealership have no idea what they are doing. They will keep changing parts, maybe without ever fixing the issue.

I doubt they called anybody at Chrysler, this is just a trick to make you believe they have a handle on the issue.

I do not know how to fix your issue. But you need to bring you Jeep to somebody who know how to fix a Jeep.

Yes it is all warranty work. They keep saying they called 'star' and 'Chrysler' and they told them to change -insert part here-. I dropped it off the last time and let them know quickly to not call me until the issue is fixed. The warranty is up in July and has been in the shop since November off and on. It's just irritating. I've messaged @JeepCares so hopefully it gets resolved

I would call them directly at 877-426-5337 (877-IAM-JEEP), and open up a case.

Be real nice and respectful to these people. They wield a lot of power, and can move mountains. You want them on your side.

I recommend messaging Jeep Cares here, and keeping everything public.. for some crazy reason, public issues seem to get resolved sooner.. When hidden in private, problems can drag on forever .. funny how that works.

Hi @CGM77 ,

I have responded to your PM asking for additional details so that we can have a case escalated on your behalf while in service!
