2018 Jeep Unlimited JK Sahara

Is there something wrong with these?

I had to ask because upon searching cargurus, I came up with 7 listings of basically the same vehicle. Color and a few variations. 4WD models. Mileage all 10-20k.

Not sure if coincidence this one dealer has 7 of almost the same thing.

Thoughts from you jeep aficionados?

Owners could be unloading JKs in favor of more fuel efficient vehicles. $4.00+ per gallon fuel costs for a significant portion of the population doesn’t help demand or desirability.

Wheres it $4 a gallon?
We are still a bit under $3 in my area.

Lease sounds plausible but same year, smae model?

So Cal. Still some areas in central California with under $4/gallon gas.

Probably lease returns the dealer picked up at auction.

WRT the gas mileage claim, maybe in blue states with high taxes but not in most of the country.

Usually when I see that, it's a flood of new Grey Market vehicles. Check their origin, likely Canada.

They are probably all rental cars being replaced.

FCA overbuilt the crap out of 18 JKUs and I believe they leased them to rental agencies. Every dealer under the sun has had 10k mile JKUs for the last 5 months. I've seen them priced below 2015 models. I expect they dumped them all at auction. I've seen none at my Jeep dealer....all at used car dealers and other brand new car dealers. I thought it was odd, seeing half a dozen 18 JKUs at just about every dealer I go by. They tend to park them all together.

Are you saying that a 2018 with the exact same trim, equipment and mileage is priced below a 2015? Who would buy the exact same jeep that is 3 years older for more money?

I bought a 2018 JKU Sahara about 8 months ago with 6700 miles on it. The dealership (CarMax) had purchased 11 of them identically equipped except for color. They were used by a company in Tennessee and then sold to CarMax. It was a savings of about $3100 compared to the best price that I got from a dealership for an identical vehicle. There was no accidents reported, no paint work - not a scratch or a dent on it. Its perfect - so I am happy with the purchase.

They could also be FCA corporate executive vehicles. Auto company executives at certain levels all get to drive one of the companies vehicles, generally for a year before they are replaced. The ones that time out are then marketed to dealers in the network. I have a good friend who got one of these from his local dealer several years back for his oldest when she was in college. The are not demos, for they are never registered by the dealer, just driven for a few thousand miles before being rotated back.
