2k Miles & Check Engine Light is on

Wondering if anyone else has had any issues with this code:
P06DD--- Oil Pump Stuck Low.
I have seen a few online threads about it being a know Chrysler issue, but I haven't seen anyone post if it has been resolved.

My JK has 2k miles on it and this light came on yesterday. Apparently it is an issue with the Wrangler and the Grand Cherokee.

Curious if anyone has any input. Thanks.

the 3.6l has a dual stage oil pump. High and low. The controller monitors it from the oil pressure sensor. If the sensor is reading a low pressure, the controller thinks the pump isnt producing the amount of pressure it needs to.
So possible issues are: Oil filter. If it has a bad filter or wrong filter it will allow oil to not fully flow thru the filter causeing a lose in pressure. Oil pressure switch: if the sensor is bad, the controller will think the oil pump is faulty unless there is a circuit failure for the oil pressure sensor. Oil pump: pump could be bad and not creating the correct amount of pressure. Last thing it could be is a mechanical failure in the engine causing the pump not to build enough pressure. It could be a crack oil galley, low oil level, or blockage.

What was the outcome at the dealership? I have the same problem and they are going to replace the oil pump don't know how much longer because the pump is on back order with no ETA

The light went off on it's own, so they changed the oil & filter and gave it back. The light came on Saturday morning (24th) I brought it back so they could read it and have it on file. They asked me to leave it on and they would call me Monday. It stayed on Saturday, I didn't drive it on Sunday and Monday AM it was off again. It was fine until today - Tuesday 27th as I was driving home from work. Not only is it annoying, do I lose my remote start, but now I have no power over 3500 rpm. I called the dealer (since they never called me on Monday) and told them that I was now concerned driving on the highway.
I can not drop it off until Monday because I need a loaner car. So ....... I will keep you updated. Please keep me updated on your status as well.

Thanks. Lyn

Just wanted to update--- after the light went on and off too many times to count (2013 JKUR picked up 10/12) went to dealer again on December 17th. They finally decided to replace oil pump. Got my Jeep back on December 19th and have driven it about 1500 miles over my vacation. NO LIGHT!!!!! Hopefully that was the fix I needed. I don't want to do and mods until I am sure it's not a lemon!
I too lost hp after 3k rpms. I explained to the dealer that this was a safety issue. They told me that if you pull over, turn off your Jeep and then restart it - the code will reset and take you out of the "limp" mode. Hopefully this will be helpful -
Good luck -----

Darn, I searched the forum for the reading I just got off my electronic display. Same as above. P06dd. Taking it into the dealer tomorrow. Not too thrilled. I had the head replaced 6 months ago. Will update.

So...the check engine light went off randomly while waiting for the part to come in. I'll wait till I take it in again. They confirmed that it was the Oil Pressure sensor. Nothing mechanical. Maybe it fixed itself and is now communicating with the computer again.

probably not such any easy fix. I hoped for that too. Make a fuss over it. My jeep is still fine - since the new oil pump. They have a check list before they are allowed to change the oil pump (probably 100 things first) I just freaked out because my Jeep lost power on the highway - in the fast lane- during rush hour. I basically told them to keep it until they fixed it - let them spend the $ for a loaner. Needless to say, my oil pump was changed in 5 days.
Good Luck

I was having this issue and noticed that the code popped a week or 2 after changing my oil. So I started thinking about and also noticed that the filter was loose inside the filter housing. When the filter should be held on to the cap by the prongs on the filter. So I compared the Puralator filter with the OE Mopar filter.... ALL non-Mopar filters are slightly shorter. When I talked to my buddy the parts manager at the dealership he said that Chrysler sent out a bulletin to its dealerships informing them of this issue. I've known this guy literally since the day I was born bc he was there with my dad. HOWEVER, I about went ballistic on him when I asked why after I've mentioned this issue several times and he never spoke up. Either way, that was my issue. Hope this helps you out.

Sweet looks to be a defective oil pump then, thanks for the follow up updates!

Me too Me too,
I have a 2013 JK 3.6L w/Auto trans built in June 2012 delivered September 2012 bought Jan 2013, Engine light came on at 2xxx miles, took it in to the dealer. Oil Pump sensor issue it’s reporting HI pressure. Jeep told them to change the oil reset the code and send me home. drove home, 7 days later light came on again TODAY 3/7/13 call service at dealer he asked when could I bring it in, told him tonight. He called Jeep then called me back, they said I'm OK with the light on, if it starts to blink stop the car and call a tow truck. Till then drive it the car is OK, he did order a new pump for me. Orange County Jeep in San Juan Bob, good guy…

will having your oil change cause this code to come up sometimes? I just had it changed at the dealer last saturday and this code popped up on Monday and stayed on until wednesday then went off then came back on Thursday and is still on. Checked the code and got the same as everyone else, P06dd

Check engine light - P06DD

Had the same issue. A week after I purchased the Jeep 8/12. First time they said they could not reproduce or find anything. Has been turning on and off since. Took it in last week, they said it was because I did not use a mopar oil filter (even though it happened with the original mopar filter). Can on again. Sitting at the dealership right now waiting for them to finish up changing out the Oil Pump. Apparently, they are on back order. Wonder why?

Had this happen just last week. Bought my 2013 in Oct, now have @4800 miles. Dealer questioned me about who did the oil change, what kind of filter, etc. Told me to not worry about it unless it comes up again. We'll see what happens...

JKU4Fun,

The oil filter is the first thing on the checklist for this problem. If it pops up again, put in a Mopar filter and take it in. They replaced my oil pump and found a cracked pan seal.

Well it came back again today. I had Autozone pull the code just to verify and it read P06DD Engine Oil pressure control circuit stuck off. Dropped by the dealer and made an appointment for Monday. We'll see what they say.

2013 JKUR and the same code P06DD verified by AutoZone last week, I called the dealer and was told to bring in next week, to plan for 8 hrs which concerns me and a big waste of time sitting at a dealership... so obvious this is an reoccurring issue....the light went off this weekend and canceled the appointment however I think best to take in next week for verifying the code was thrown for documentation or they may decide they want to keep the jeep. I live 30 miles from the dealer.
