4x4 shifter linkage trouble

Well I tried shifting into 4 low and the linkage popped off a stud on the transfer case. It left the t case in neutral. I had to push it back on with a stick because I couldn't get my hand in there. Anyone have this happen?

I couldn't really see it was getting dark and was up and around the front drive shaft. I was just happy to be able to get it back in 2 high. It did seem like the stud was too small for the hole in the linkage.

I could be wrong but I believe there is a 90 cent bushing that goes in there, dealerships usually keep them in stock. I would call them on Monday.

Advance adapters makes a nice fix for that when you get tired of replacing those plastic bushings. Advance adapters JK transfer case shift cable.
