730N Nav Cost and No Camera

On my new Grand Cherokee Overland with every option we paid the same price for the Nav as in our new JK but the GC includes the backup camera. Why doesn't the JK have a backup camera or at least reduce a little on the price (besides being a big company and they don't have to)?

Interesting point - altho I hope you got a better deal (more off MSRP) on the Cherokee than you did on the Wrangler. That is my case - same head unit (730), but one has the camera and the other does not, and got the Overland for $8K off and the Wrangler for $3.5K off.
You can buy an aftermarket camera and connect it to the 730 from what I understand...
FWIW - I find I don't need the camera on the Sahara as it's so short and stands in such a way that I can see out back just fine - can back up just as close to most things with it as I can with the Cherokee using the camera.
I'm more bothered (and even more so now that pointed it out) that my '10 SRT8 300 lacks a backup camera yet uses the same 730 as my Ram that has a camera...guess that's how Chrysler keeps luring me back to upgrade to a newer year.

We need Mopar to offer a DIY option to add camera to Wranglers with 730 system.

I second the need for a Mopar DIY camera install.

I am looking at the MYgig lock pick as an option.

I just ordered a Garmin Nvi 1450LMT 5-Inch Portable GPS Navigator with Lifetime Map & Traffic Updates for $162.16, delivered (Amazon.) It'll do for my needs and the price is right. Especially compared to the factory built-ins.

I had started thinking about maybe adding the 430....but you just snapped me back to reality. Heck, there is a Garmin (or Tom Tom or something) that has been sitting in a drawer for about a year. My GF uses her phone, and I keep an atlas in each of my cars. Stashed in the saddle bag of my motorcyle is an old school, fold-up, get at a rest-area for free on the interstate map...along with a $3.00 suction cup compass.

As far as the back-up camera goes....yes...for the price...it should come with one.
