About to pull trigger on Maximus-3 Tire Carrier

I've been reading and researching threads on tire carriers for months. I've decided for various reasons that while no carrier matches all my requirements and restrictions, the Maximus-3 seems to be the best choice for me.

What perhaps put it over the top is they now offer it in the 75A bronze color which will match my bumpers.

So before I do, is there anyone with experience with the Maximus-3 that can offer encouragement or a final caution?

Thanks!

@USMCmike ... i'm a very subjective user. There are stuff I have on my jeep that I would and wouldn't recommend. The Maximus-3 tire carrier is without a doubt one of the items I would recommend.

I've had my tire carrier for almost 30k miles. Installed 2015 in March. The only issue I had was an install error. I didn't put Loctite on my tire carrier and it rattled. After I added the Loctite, no more issues.

I installed maximus-3 modular accessories for my rotopax side mount, led mast, led side backup light bracket, and hi lift jack.

No paint issues whatsoever besides the minor scuff marks from the tire carrier where the tire touches the sides. I would recommend adding 3m in that area prior to install. No rust and no maintenance needed. One of the hinge screws was loose but that's about it. It came loose after almost 2 years. retightened it a couple weeks ago.

@USMCmike ... I forgot to add, my maximus-3 side backup light is a spot pattern and obstruction of light will be due to the tire/rotopax, and hi lift if you get a different pattern. Nonetheless, i'm still going to upgrade my backup light to rigid diffused. One for the side and one on top of the brake light mast. I did have an issue with my backup light (condensation) and Maximus-3 worked with northridge4x4 to send me a new one at no cost.

Hey Mike... sorry to raise an old post from the dead, but did you go with the Maximus-3 tire carrier in bronze? If so, would you kindly post some pics? I'm about to do purchase one and I'd love to see what it looks like in bronze (only pics I've found are the standard black). Thanks!

Yep. And after several months still loving it. I'd like some accessories, but Max-3 seems to have changed staff and isn't really following this forum right now.

@USMCmike ... yeah they have been a hit/miss with their internet customer service. If you call though, they are very very helpful. Leave a message, they'll call you right back, but I prefer email so I can show them pics to better describe issues if any.

If your planning to get accessories, they are all great, except for their led lights. I've had one replaced due to condensation, and the current one was replaced with Rigid SR-Q Floods due to lens yellowing.

Also, 2.5 years ... no rust.
