Others here have reported the same fluid levels on the rear AEV cover. Far short of the 2.37 quarts required by the manufacturer.

AEV also says this in their installation manual:

Each AEV differential cover can be used in either the front or rear axle locations and has two oil fill level holes labeled “F” for Front and “R” for Rear to aid in servicing. Depending on what axle you are servicing, use the appropriate hole as a quick reference when adding oil. All oil quantities should match the operator’s manual recommended amounts and weights. Always service differentials on flat level ground with
wheels chocked

Here is the fluid capacity extracted after my 1st rear diff change.

2.1 quarts.

I plan on putting 2 quarts back in.

I go with ‘prescribed’ amounts since after one winter I could no longer twist the AEV grub screws on the fill pots without stripping them.

Would be cheap to drill out & replace but no one at AEV seems to be able to give me a size for the screws. I’m stumped

I’m going to give them another call, gotta be standard size. Road salt gums them up pretty quick, I’ll order some spares once I find out the size/thread pitch

AEV said the inside of their diff covers match the capacity and shape of the OEM covers.
They also said ...fill until spills.

I ran the AEV's front and rear. The biggest issue with them is the hex head bolts they supply back out over time and if you do not check them regularly they will back out and leak. Even blue locktite did not solve the issue with them.

That is not he first time I have heard that. This is one of the reasons I didn't use Lube Lockers.
Are you using Lube Lockers or RTV?
