AEV Pintler Center Cap Replacement??

The center caps that came with my Pintlers are cheap....cheaper than the factory caps. I went to pop one out so I could mount my spare tire bike rack and one of the plastic tags broke.

Since the factory caps won't fit the Pintlers, does anyone know of some replacement caps that have some quality to them and won't break with repeated removal? And what size cap would fit?

Or is anyone running these wheels without caps? How does it look?

You can get a moulded AEV centre cap that are cheaper but maybe more durable? (Rubbery?) And you can get them in silver or black for about 8$. The yellow ones that come with are 12$. This is northridge in Canada...US is probably cheaper. The centre bore on the AEV wheel I think is 73mm. The stock jk is 71.5.

The aftermarket AEV molded black ones I bought to put in my Argent Pintlers "feel" more durable to me. Could just be perceived on my end though. Even still, with repeated removal, I'm not sure they'll hold up. Still are plastic tabs with a metal ring.

The black ones you bought have a metal ring with them? That'a how my factory caps are. The caps that came with the AEV wheels came no ring. I got the yellow ones and I'm already having to out some super glue on the yellow stickers to keep them on.

Ok, I just check again, I guess they're not different looking, but they're bigger.....unless I'm doing something wrong. I'm gonna take the tire off again and try....it just wasn't wanting to go in the first time. It's not like it's that difficult!!! LOL!!

I had '08 Rubicon wheels. Maybe the caps on them were different that what you have? I also got the cheesy yellow sticker caps with the AEV wheels and didn’t want to use them either.

My factory caps are definitely bigger. The AEV caps will practically fit inside the factory caps.

Yeah, I don't know why the ship with those really cheap ones too.

You can probably find the stock caps cheaper, just Google the part number: 52090402AA.
