AEV Tire carrier with Smittybilt Gen2 rear bumper

Ok so I'm sure a lot of people are going to read this title and think "this guy is an idiot, you can't mix and match bumpers and tire carrier arms from different manufacturers like that" and you would normally be right.

But here is my thought process and I'm trying to see if I am on the right track...

The AEV tire carrier is frame-mounted, works with the OEM standard rear bumper, as well as the OEM 10th anniversary bumper.

I just ordered a Smittybilt XRC Gen2 Rear bumper. Smittybilt offers a frame mouted rear tire carrier as well, and their website says that their rear tire carrier works with the 10th anniversary bumper or the smittybilt Gen2 bumper.

So, common sense would tell me that if the AEV carrier work with the OEM 10th anniversary bumper, and the Smittybilt carrier works with the OEM 10th anniversary bumper, then the AEV carrier should fit in the Smittybilt Gen2 rear bumper (because the holes "in theory" have to be in the same place)

The reason I want to use the AEV carrier is that I've heard mixed reviews on the quality of the Smittybilt piece. While I trust Smittybilt for non-moving parts like bumpers, I am a little skeptical on things that have bearings and move and potentially can fail.

So my question is: Has anyone tried this combination or know of any reason why this would or wouldn't work?
