Anyone relocate their OEM horns?

I searched first, honest. Has anyone relocated their OEM horns to somewhere behind the grill? I've got 2 horns so at least it doesn't sound like the Road Runner when I blow the horn. But, one of them is located on the left fender almost to the firewall. I've been thinking about taking both of them and moving them behind the grill, if there's space, to allow more sound/volume facing forward.

Has anyone done this? Does it work, is there space behind the grill? I haven't started tearing anything apart on the JK and figured I'd ask first.
Thanks

Its really easy to go out to your jeep, lift the hood, and just have a look. Careful though if you go out side away from your computer you may get cold. Please wear a hat and coat..

Yup. Mine are in front of the radiator. I bought dual horn setup and it wasn't so tough to do with a metal strap to serve as the anchor point.

There are two actually, one back by the brake booster near the firewall, and the other behind the headlight, both on the driverside.

I did look, that's how I know there are two horns. I joined this forum to share any info that I may have but more importantly to learn from the experience of other members. I appreciate and respect the opinions and experiences of members who are willing to help others out. Then there's always someone like you who wants to be a total dick. And to everyone else, thank you for the responses. I do appreciate the information and the help.

I hate my road runner horn! I figured an awesome vehicle like a Jeep would at least sound SOMEWHAT awesome. I think this will go on my list to Santa.

THAT'S a HORN!

Would it be pushing it too far to get a license plate that says "HORNY" too? I mean, go all-in and own it. Loud and proud.

I had air horns on one of my motorcycles. Really moved people out of my way.

Did the second horn come standard in your Jeep or did you add it yourself?

That's OE. High pitch and low pitch.
Low pitched frequencies aren't as directional but carry farther ---- high pitched are more directional so that the narcoleptic Cadillac pilot that's about to t-bone you can tell where the sound is coming from right before impact.

After I got away from my computer and put on a coat and hat, I went outside and looked. It came with the two horns. I just bought the Jeep in August - 2015 Sport model JK.

Just an idea. Back in my TJ days it was common to see (or hear) a bunch of horns from other vehicles. The guys would go to pick-a-part places and pick the horns off some other beasts, transplanting them onto their Jeeps. Big truck horns were common and quite loud too. I've heard the 2007-2011 horns were kinda weak too. I've been ok with the 2013 horn sound though.

I have had those on a couple bikes I have owned. Awesome horns. Impossible for people to ignore.

Having said that, the factory horn on my 2017 is loud as heck,

What bothers me about the horn on the 2018 is not being able to give a courtesy toot to a nearby walker. The dang horn works through a delayed relay and is full on or nothing. Over quite a few decades, rarely used the horn in an emergency situation, more often used to call someone out of their home.

I may just get me one of these. One of the two horns on my JK isn't working, and it sounds like the above mentioned roadrunner. And it's too damn cold outside to go trace the wiring right now - even with a hat.

This. I've always commented to my wife that I feel bad when wanting to give a courtesy honk it always comes out as "GET OUT OF THE FREAKING WAY" or HEY MORON PAY ATTENTION". Granted, living where I do usually that is what I'm trying to convey.

So if I ask my husband for a new horn for Christmas, how does he know what to buy? It's not like Amazon has sound bytes for you to hear.

You won't be disappointed, I have literally put this on every vehicle I've owned for the last 15yrs.
And it works, the looks you will get if it is used will be priceless.

I just don't like the delay from pressing to the sound of the horn, feels like I lose the "window of opportunity". Same for the delay in flashing the high beams.

Took both stock ones out and put this single one where the back one was.
Almost a direct fit too, had to manipulate a bolt a bit with a drummel to really get it to fit.
With it being a dual builtin horn it is a bit thicker than either stocker.
But at a 139db it doesn't really matter where you put it.

Okay, so I'm a moron. If I would have paid attention I would have seen a lot earlier before making my dumb post that there are customer videos on Amazon showing the horn.... and would you believe these videos actually have sound?!?! Who woulda thought, not me.

Oh yeah I gotta get this one. Much easier on the husband when I just give him the online link and say "order this". Makes Christmas shopping for me so much easier for him. 😁
