Anyone special ordered a Rubicon?

Has anyone special ordered a stripped Rubicon and if so. How?

I look at the jeep website and the option to go with less stuff doesn't seem to exist.

Is their a stripped base model Rubicon you can add stuff to?

Where can you find this info?

Has anyone done this and roughly what did the jeep run you?

If you look on there, the straight Rubicon option package 23R can be ordered. You can't, as far as I know, specify parts of that option package be left off.

IF you order a 23R JK, your invoice price is right around 29K, if I recall correctly. (Maybe 28K or something like that, I forget)

I added three options from the base 23R, mine is still being built.

There's really not too much fluff in the 23R, in my opinion.

Why not help us out and let us know what a "stripped base model rubicon" means to you?

Are you talking about not having the fancy nav unit or not having seats?

You used to be able to get them with crank windows. Not anymore tho. Not sure if that's what you meant by stripped down. Or do you want half doors and just a soft top?

electric windows are still optional on a 23R
the windows come in with the power group at $895, IIRC

I ordered a JKUR last August. My 2013 has premium soft top, auto tranny, 4.10 gears, and auto temp control (waste of money). And that's it.

Good point, Stripped may mean different things to different people.

Rubber floor mats, painted metal interior, wind up windows, Radio with a speaker, the no trim trim level.

I thought the power group was standard on Rubicons? When I ordered mine I did not have the option to remove it. Although I wanted them so there was no reason to ask for that to be removed.

I'm pretty sure you can get whatever the low level audio system is. That should avoid any fancy nav screens.

You can't order a jeep without carpets, but the carpets are meant to be removable and aren't attached to anything other than some push tabs. A lot of us (myself included) just pull them out and leave them out.

The metal underneath is painted the same color as the jeep, but isn't as nicely done as the exterior. Many choose to leave it as is, DIY some type of liner, or even pay to get it professional line-xed or otherwise finished by a pro.

I believe rubis come with power windows automatically UNLESS you order half doors. Half doors are, of course, unpowered. And awesome. I'd go that route.

Mopar does offer rubber "slush mats" and your dealer will happily sell you a set with your jeep. Many of us (myself included) have them. That said, aftermarket options are superior, so you might just want to handle those afterwards.

Hmm.. Looks like I forgot that the power windows/doors were included in the base package. It's almost $900. I can probably invest that in something else and live with roll up windows and unpowered door locks.

I got mine off the lot with just power windows and a hard-top. I test drove one with roll up windows and kept hitting my knee on the handle. For that reason power was a must have for me. I wish I had the EVIC wheel controls that comes with the connectivity package. Some of the options for jeep tweaks can only be done by the dealer otherwise.

I payed 1% below invoice. It seems like it was 32k sticker and I payed around 29k if I remember right. There are a number of sites to find the invoice price. At most dealers you can use a "tread lightly" discount to get the 1% below invoice price. Just emailing "Internet Managers" you should be able to get that price without messing with getting the tread lightly membership.

You can do a search for, Tread lightly discount, and find out the details.

^^Too much stuff.

I've noticed when buying vehicles from government G.S.A. and state auctions that the gov. gets cars that are pretty stripped down. I guess I'll check out one of the local Forest Service Rubicons and see what it came with.

If you're lucky enough to get a GSA or Other Federal Agency JK, please share the results!
