Yeah, dont go light bar, go with pods and a smaller bar if you want light at your disposal.

I'm at 39k now. When I hit 90k-100k, hopefully I can retire this Jeep from DD and then really start my build.

I make a list of what I want to do and once that list is done, I am done.. My 5 week old JKUR is completed as of yesterday.

I may change a few things here and there but the bulk of my build / modification is complete.

Some are always modifying and it's never ending and that's cool too. Rock crawlers are probably always doing something or repairing something. Mine is a daily driver and I don't rock crawl or do extreme stuff..

My advise is to make a list and peck away at it until you are done. My original list changed a little and I am sure I'll do a few things going forward..

You quit modding when the dirt hits the lid.

I put a halt in my mods this year. Was planning to add forced induction, upgrade my axles and beadlocks and tires but... I kinda spent my investment... with another investment. Escrow is closing this week!!

Hell, less than 3 months ago, I bought an 08 Sahara with 161k on it. It was in the price range I wanted to spend. It runs good and I have done almost 10k in mods to it. I have wheeled it for the last five weekends and had a blast. I have about 5k more not including a motor that I planned on when I bought it. I don’t daily drive it, but do not trailer it to trails near me. Most are 2-4 hours away. I will keep this Jeep until I die or my daughter wants to wheel it. I am already planning on buying a newer JKU in the next couple years...

Cant get any more pitiful than this

How about removing your mods, not selling them, letting them pile up in your garage then kicking yourself each time you enter said garage for not doing the mod the way you should have had you taken your time in the first place!

Yeah, that's a brutally expensive way to call it quits very quickly

Lol...sitting here with my girl in bed reading this thread (we both have JKs) and asked her opinion of when you stop modding. She’s like uhhh...when you’re dead! Laughed my ass off. Thats my girl!

Stopped modding to move onto more "speedy" projects. The jeep drives good, sounds good and is a ton of fun. Time to enjoy it and build something else!

My 2013 DD, hunting, wheeling, camping JLU is at about 115,000 miles. The 2.5 TF lift, R 9000s and 12.5x15x33s, NX Twill are showing the wear. The day is coming for them to retire and make room for PR 44s/axles, lockers, Atlas, 37s and new Glide top. Have no idea how long it will be on the motor and tranny (freashend as needed) Full synthetic lubes seem to be keeping them happy.

My wife's JLUR has been taking up so much modding time and attention I have shamefully been putting work on mine off. But as soon as hers gets all "dolled up" and proves itself worthy, I will show her what a real Jeep can do...LOL Love a good modding "one up-manship" quarrel !

My grandkids will have to answer the end to modding question when they shovel the dirt on me ....

Gonna have to make sure your A/C is fully charged and install a refrigerator in the back. A shot gun mount install may be needed as well, since that is obviously the start of the Zombie apocalypse that most of us have been modding for in the 1st place. I've been holding off on the shotgun mount install, but that video reminded me that I better get to it. Don't want to get caught with my pants down when it happens.

You gonna go with HIDs or LEDs on the lights, or jump straight to the torch holders with flame thrower?

To put it simply on responding to the original thread title, it stopped when I bought a plane. Although there are a few things I still want to do with the Jeep.
