Battery replacement

Jeep sat for about 3days and was hard to start. Batteries need replacing after about four years?

Any suggestions on stock replacement? I donít have heavy electrical requirements. Hate being left on the side of the road.

Bought April 2015.

I would say 4 years is good. I got 2 years on my 2014's and when it died it died no second day warning. Any good agm battery. I would get one with more cca than the little stock one tho.

When my battery died a couple of years ago, I got an Autocraft Platinum AGM from Advance Auto. I think this will be my 3rd summer on it, and so far, so good.

I replaced mine after three years with an Everstart Maxx from Walmart. Size H-6 is an exact replacement.

No sign of dying.

Some say the quality of the Optima batteries went south when they did (Mexico) but I think its not an issue now. My Optima which was purchased in'09 is still going strong.

Be sure to upgrade the battery terminals at the same time especially the negative.

I did the Odyssey batteries also. I got the 34R+PC1500T Extreme Series.
It's only been 6 months or so since I got it, but I have nothing to complain about so far.

You wouldn't happen to have a link to where to purchase upgraded terminals would you? I've been looking but haven't found anything that looked quality enough.

Northstar batteries are the best out there for agm batteries. They are an improved version of odyssey batteries, these were designed by engineers that left from odyssey to make an even better batteries. I got turned into them by the fishing guys that beat them up using them as trolling motors. You can get them relabeled as x2 Power from a batteries and bulbs store of there is no distributor near you.

I replace mine every 3 years with the largest SuperStart battery that will fit.
My battery died, after about 4 years, while on the trip home from Moab. Stopped for a bite to eat, came out and turned the key and click click...Ö No warning signs at all.

Odyssey. Costs the most but highly worth it. My Jeep sits a week or 2 at a time, sees everything from -20* to 100+*, winch, etc. Going on 5 years strong now without a single hiccup.

Autozone shows Odessey to be a little cheaper than yellow top. Yellow top has a little more cca at 800.

Is this the right part number?

Part Number: 48-720T
Alternative Part Number: 0752-2020
Warranty: 3 years
Notes: Performance
*** 723 cold cranking amps ***. With SAE terminals

An AGM is the better choice, put in the extreme from QT after 3 years as learned not to scrimp on some aspects of a vehicle in particular when using a winch. I recall once being a long way off road and hiking out with my battery cables looking for help.

Autozone shows Odyssey to be less expensive than Optima.

Optima shows to have more CCA than Odyssey, but I didnít know if I was selecting the right Odyssey part number.

We're downsizing but at one time we had six cars and trucks and I only ran Optimas (after many years of great service beating them up on the racetrack). After the switch I started getting only 2-3 years out of them across the board. Sad.

I believe International is the only battery maker left that hasn't gone to Mexico. At least, that was the case a few years ago before I sold my heavy truck dealership.

Info already provided in post #7. Walmart Everstart Maxx. H-6 is a direct fit and costs a little over $100. I've been using them for years and have never had an issue. The one in my former pickup was about six years old when I sold it and it was still going strong. The one in my Jeep is about a year and a half old, but no issues. The only failure I've ever seen on the trail was either an Odyssey or an Optima, don't remember which one.

Not sure where you live but if you have Les Schwabb tire shops around they have a very nice battery for the wrangler and they have a great hassle free warranty.
