Bedlined my grille

I bought a lightly used grille from another forum member back in probably late June with the intention to spray it with bedliner and use it when going on roadtrips and wheeling for extra protection and I love the way it came out! All I did was very lightly sand the surface and sprayed 2 normal coats of Rustoleum Bedliner (less than $8 at Home Depot) and then one very light top coat. I really love the look and feel of it. It was super easy to do and adds extra protection when you want it!

I did it on a low wind, 74 degree day with humidity less than 75%. I prepped it and sprayed with the first coat, even, flowing strokes about 12 inches away from the surface. I let it sit for about 3-5 minutes inbetween coats which was plenty long enough. I then applied the the second coat, waited again, and then the 3rd very light coat (to even out any flaws). I then put it in the garage and let it sit almost a full 24 hours before I put it on.

I love the look, it was very easy to do and I would recommend to anyone wanting to change the look of their Jeep without breaking the bank and adding protection to the vehicle.

Nice

I got lucky and found someone in the club with a Black Wrangler that wanted my mineral gray grille - so we swapped :P

I think I remember seeing that on the page or something along those lines.
