Best Mod/Accessory under $50?

Looking around ad the mods so many of you make, it's clear that a lot of you have one of 2 things:

A) Ability/Knowhow
B) Cash on hand

So my question is for the rest of you - what is the best mod you've made, or accessory you've picked up that cost $50 or less, and can be installed with very basic tools and mechanical ability?

I'll put it this way - my son bought me a 6 inch Washington Redskins logo sticker to put on the jeep, and I'm afraid to even do that (yes, I'm willing to admit that I'm a redskins fan... still). I did change my antifreeze, but even that was an all afternoon effort (with only one broken screw in the process).

2013 Wrangler Sport, by the way.

Thanks - your suggestions will go right onto my Christmas List :-)

#1 is the stock tweeter mod for about $3... But you must have the upgrade Alpine/Infinity audio for it to work. And yes, it takes some skill to solder on the new capacitors, etc.

#2 is the Rugged Ridge Dash Multi Mount with phone kit. Yes, it can be done with the most simple tools and capability. Less than $40.

https://www.extremeterrain.com/rr-mm...5-1355116.html

I can run my Waze, or trail maps and have it in perfect view.

I agree with Pressurized, I've got both the above done. I would also look into the Daystar hood Wranglers. I just put some on last week, and the hood flutter is gone. I think they were around $22 and well worth it. Don't be afraid to try things, I've worked on cars my whole life and it really doesnt get much simpler than the Wrangler from the ground up. Be confident in yourself and have some fun!

HID bulbs in your stock back up sockets. Amazing improvement. No need for the an entire replacement light set, just the bulbs. Search on this forum for the right ones.

Best Mod/Accessory under $50?

If you have a MT, a nice 2 1/8Ē shift knob. That was my 2nd mod, the 1st was removing the hood decals.

This was my first mod in September for my first Jeep:
Red Rock Honeycomb Grille Inserts $26.99
http://www.extremeterrain.com/redroc...lack-0717.html
Keeps stones from chipping up your radiator. No fuss (or tools!). No taking the grille off and zip tying mesh on the back. You can also get it in chrome. EASY!! Probably easier than adhering a decal.

This was about the best $50 I spent:

https://www.amazon.com/Rough-Country.../dp/B07BLK5483

My spousal unit is a bit vertically challenged and this helps her get in/out and gives us both something to hang on when going thru dips, etc.

Those can be had for under $20 on eBay under other brands.

Same situation here - the jeep has the grab handles already, but they are the canvas kind so maybe an uprade is in order. Thanks for the recommendation.

The two that come to mind are my Rugged Ridge sunscreen and Ebay flush mount LED backup lights. I purchased the sunscreen to block out some sun and heat but was surprised at the amount of wind buffeting it stopped and it will also block a light sprinkle of rain when driving. The backup lights help tremendously at night and also serve as a warning device in parking lots, even in broad daylight!

VDP console cover. The original gets cold in the winter and scalding hot in the summer with the top off. This console cover protects from both.

I installed this, almost the exact same thing but slightly cheaper. The grips don't have any logo.

I installed a set of Synergy grab handles. It was only $27 for a set of two (opened box deal). Saved me about $100!

Mine were Daystar replacement hood straps, at around 22 bucks or so on sale. I was driving on the interstate on an extremely windy day and thought the stock ones were gonna snap they were fluttering and banging so much.

That's a great idea! Back in the day I had a Mazda RX7 and it had a dead pedal. It was a great little accessory. I've never had a dead pedal in any other vehicle, so thank you for that reminder! GREAT idea!

in no particular order, here are a handful of less expensive, simple mods that make life better or customizes the rig (also good for XMas list):

Front grill inserts
Headlight (beauty) rings
Grab Handles
Sun shade (front and / or back)
Sill plates
Dead Pedal

Phone holder - (I tossed the RR one after it broke)(67D is better but outside the $50)

Console insert (many options here)
Storage Bags for gear
Gas Cap cover
