Best plug and play LED headlights?

I want to upgrade my headlights and fogs to LED. I prefer plug and play.

Who’s running what and what do I need to avoid?

IMO Procomp are the best deal going right now. We put them on our '14 and they're better than the factory LED on our '18.

Available from just about every online Jeep store.

I just installed JW Speaker 8700s. Very impressed. Definitely plug and play.

How much difference is there between the most expensive and the more economical ones in light and build quality?

I have never owned JWS, VisionX, or KC, but the much less expensive ProComps I bought seem very solid. Running them over a year now and zero issues.

As far as fogs, I went bargain basement $28 ebay specials and they have been working good. You can tell the quality is not top notch, but look just like more expensive ones once installed. Been through some major downpours, no leaks or moisture in the housing that I can tell.

Best for the money? These one's from "LX-Light". Running them one full year now with no flicker, no problems with excellent light and pattern. Highly rated on Amazon with reviews about equal to the JW's. I believe they are the same as DV8 if you want to pay more.

PRO-COMP and be done. Or if want silver, the original A0101 lights. I have these and are amazing. They do need a conversion cable.

These are the original Tuffplus lights and who makes them for Pro-Comp.

Yep, these are great. Ive been using them for about 18 months and they are really nice if you dont need heated lights. Huge improvement over stock.

KC LED headlights and fog lights. They have been around for a long time, backed by a 23 year warranty. I installed their lights about 3 years ago. Notice the passenger side fog light is dirty and cracked? Rock hit soon after purchase, breaking the lense. There is a small broken piece bouncing around inside. That light has been fully submerged, full of mud/dirt, and washed multiple times over the last 3 years. It still works. I don't know what other LEDs can take that abuse and still work. All future light bling will be KC. And they look great, not the bug face look

Do they cost more than other LEDs? Yes, but absolutely worth every dollar

I got these lantsun LED's about 3 years ago, super bright, never flickers and a great price if I can get another year out of these I say I did alright I might even change them out for the newer lantsun models but I have been nothing but impressed by the wide spectrum of brightness from these LED's and the price.

I've had those installed since March 18. I just noticed the other day that they have moisture inside the lens and it has frozen. It doesn't seem to be affecting the light but i think it will only get worse as it is currently 12F now & getting colder for the rest of the week.

They have illuminated the fact that I have heated headlights in my future.Click image for larger version

KC Hilites here. I caught them on sale at Christmas a year ago. Simple replace and plug the harness on. I love the crisp cutoff and the high beams are great. I live in SoCal, so I don’t need a heated light (thank god).
I could net be happier. As long as I don’t ever have to replace them I will be ecstatic. I hate doing things twice. My last Jeep (Liberty) I never had to replace the stock headlights in the 12 years I owned it.

IF I lived up north I would probably get the best ones or better than what I have but I live in South Texas so we don't have that problem here.

I think you may need to aim your factory LEDs. I have them in my 18 JKU and they needed to be aimed right off the get go. I also had the original higher output 80watt LED light A0101 housing like the one ProComp uses. The light output is different between the two due to the projector in A0101 housing but it is not better by no means.

I thought I found an option for LED headlights but this fogging wont work since Im in a cold climate too. Anyone have a heated LED headlight suggestion besides the pricey Premium Heated High Performance 7 Round LED Headlights from Quadratec??

Nice thread - was thinking about LED lights for our 2013 JKU. Wife's JLU LEDs are amazing.

I'm in Canada though and when I find what looks like that same thing on Amazon, I also see recommendations related to DLR, which I assume means Daylight Running Lights. Example review post shown below. But, I don't know what this means in terms of what to adjust or how. Asking for info.

-------------------
For CDNs whose jeeps are already programmed with DRLs, you'll need to reprogram them because the reduced voltage the factory DRLs have fed to them, is enough to run these LEDs on full high beam - not what you want for DRLs.

The dealer should be able to adjust the DRL voltage so that the lights aren't on high beam during daylight hours.

I think the dealer can do this, or you can do it via several aftermarket programmers. I used the AEV procal to make my turn signal lights my DRL's

another vote for the Pro comps, i installed them last week, and they are a good quality light, at an amazing price point. i did have a problem with the high beams not turning off after you turned them on, but pro comp had me bring them into my local 4WP and they exchanged them no problem

Not really.

JW only offers/sells the non-heated J2 series, the heated non-J2 (your link), and the non-heated non-J2 headlights, directly. The heated J2 series are a Quadratec exclusive.

Also went the heated route via Quadratec's J.W. Speaker designed kit.

https://www.quadratec.com/p/quadrate...ep-wrangler-jk

Ah-maz-ing. No more icing up over the pass, and these suckers are bright. I get flashed pretty regularly, and have to tap it quickly to full burn to let the oncoming driver know that I'm already in low beam. And yes, they are already aimed as low as possible. :P

I've got the amazon ones mentioned a few times already along with the fog lights. Honestly they have been great for me for the price. No flicker issues, bright, good looks, etc. They aren't heated so they do tend to ice up fairly easily so that's the only real downside I would mention. Otherwise great for the value!

I have the VisionX Vortex in pewter. I really like the layout of the lights themselves and the fact you can get their adapter that easily turns hi/lo beams on same time. I mean, if you are running your brights, why not get maximum light output? Also, like most any modern car you buy now, I also wanted a true daytime running light and not just my fog lights on. For that reason, the halo was a bonus for me though I know some people don't care for it. But who cares what other people think right?
