Best Taillight Guards

This seems like such a dumb question, but I went to try and find taillight guards and I was reading the reviews from previous customers and they were stating that they were not solid steel, and they they were just pressed molds. So my question, where can I find SOLID STEEL tail light guards in black of course!

If it was me - Best one is - None.

A branch grabs that guard and it rips the rear Tub corner and does serious body damage while "protecting" a $27 trailer light (if OE) and even an aftermarket JWS TL isn't as much as body damage.

Agree, I would rather have a cheap plastic tail light absorb impact than a piece of metal possibly guarding it and damaging the Jeeps body.

Or the guard attaches to just the taillight, and if struck, transfers the energy directly into the taillight causing it to break.

I have the MOPAR tail light guards, as stated before they are just attached to the tail light mounting screws so they aren't protecting shit.

They are just for looks, mine came with them so I'll leave them for now.

I got MOPAR for looks. If they start snagging on stuff I'll take them off but for their intended purpose they do ok.

Note gas cap cover which also does not protect my gas

It does here in Pa during a slushy nasty snow/ice storm but in AZ it may actually keep you from bursting into flames....

Maxmate makes them in solid steel and they have a very good Powdercoat. I know they will not protect the tail lights from anything. I got them just because they look cool.

My Mopar ones that came with my Jeep have rusted after 2 years. Should take them off.

I have tail light guards - just because. Once in ahwile they come in handy when I need to hook a bunji cord to it. Hard to explain, but I have found a 'functional' use for the useless guards.

Our Altitude came with the guards and they are probably useless, but they look good. I'll keep them on, unless they give us any trouble on the BC forest roads this summer. - Ted
