Bestop SuperTop NX Twill or No Twill

Purchased my 2014 Black JKU Sport with a hardtop... Now that the weather is consistently 80+, I want a soft top that will fold up and down with relative ease to go topless. I decided I am going to go with the Bestop SuperTop NX, but I am hung up on weather I want the twill material or not. My concern is longevity and color. I am curious how both look on the black jeep as well as which one will survive the test of time and save me money in the long run. I would love to hear some of your opinions from those who have experience with one or both tops. If you have pictures that would be great too!

I haven't had the regular one but the twill is very nice. A friend of mine that has the regular one saw mine, looked, touched, felt, and now wants a twill. If you can afford the extra cash, I say go for it.

^ that was my logic. I got the twill because I heard too many stories about leaky tops. Figured it wasn't something to go cheap on. The twill has done right by me. I've had no issues.

I've only had my jeep since the end of October, but I think the premium twill top is awesome. I love the color and how BLACK it is. I think it looks really good. I'd say if you can afford the twill, go for it!

That twill does look pretty damn nice. I like those wheels too, what kind?

Keep the pictures coming of both types please if you have them!

I have the non-twill one and I haven't experience any leaking or anything. No complaints so far. I don't know if it would cut down on the wind noise, but I took out the middle bar right above the front seats, the wind noise doesnt bother me whatsoever.

I love my Bestop Twill but they've had to replace it twice. I'm having a problem with the drivers side window pulling out of the door surround near the top. and the zipper not aligning between the top and the window. I think I'm one of those freak occurrences. The new one they sent me is doing the same thing but at a slowmo pace...slowly the plastic angle strip is being pulled out at the top and deformed.

Between Bestop and Quadratec the customer service has been superb and I'd recommend the top regardless.

I have a supertop in twill and have a trektop in black diamond. Both are nice, can't go wrong but a few things differentiate the twill. It's much quieter at highway speed. All I can hear is wind hitting the windshield on windy days. The trektop gives more feedback noise from the highway.

Also, in the winter (20's) the twill stays warm and the diamond does not. The twill seems to keep the heat in. Also, twill looks nicer inside and out.

I'd say the twill is pretty close to the hardtop and the additional noise only is due to the windows.

Both are good but if you can swing it, go twill. Bestop is great but mine seems to have its quirks which might be user error. It seems to be kinda saggy at the back end and in the middle even with the supports in. In VERY windy days the passenger side will pickup a little under extreme gusts.

Cool, thanks for the information. You wouldn't happen to have some pictures with the twill top and windows, would you? Also, I love the look of those fastback tops. I wish they were framed to make for an easy up-down transition. I would get one of those for sure if it was built that way.

14Sport, does that fold down like the OEM soft top? Do you have to take the windows out to fold it down?

Yes. It has the sunrider option also where you can just open the roof above the front seats. You do have to remove the windows before folding, just like the factory one. Some people just unzip the rear window and let it flop into the back before folding. Also, the new factory tops, at least what I have read, have spring assist in the rear. The Supertop NX does not.
