Bestop Trektop Opinions

Hey folks, new to the forum and Wranglers - just brought my first one home yesterday. Sorry it took so long.....

Anyway, I have the hard top on there now and was thinking about buying another soft top for the ease of putting it up and down for the summer. I like the look of the trektops, but wanted to see if I could get some feedback on fit, buffeting, and overall satisfaction. Also, does it give the guys in the backseat enough headroom or does it slope down on their heads.

Thanks for the help.

Rhett,

Congrats on the new Jeep and welcome to the Forum!

I run the Trektop NX on my JK and I really like it. It fits really well, and the install is really easy. I had mine on in about an hour, follow the videos on Bestop's site and you won't have any issues.

I'm really happy with the look of it, and the tight fit means no wind noise and no flapping. The Safari Bikini and Sunrider features are what sold me on it. I was looking into a Bikini for the summer and got a great deal on the Trektop, so I chose that and haven't looked back.

If you have any questions, I'll be happy to help!

-Zach

Thanks for the reply Zack. The link you had was for the two door, but I see you guys have 4 door as well. Do you have 2 or 4 door? I guess I should have mentioned that somewhere in my post - oh well, rookie mistake.

Would you (or anyone else) have any insight into the headroom in the backseat with that top? I can't tell if it goes far enough back to clear the headrests and have some additional room.

Thanks,

Rhett

Very happy with mine also. The only drawback is losing cargo space. Just keep that in mind.

If you want to put it up and down on a whim, I suggest looking at a supertop. That is the big drawback to the trektop, no frame equates to difficulty putting it up and down completely and storing it.

Rhett,

I have a 2-door, and I don't loose too much headroom. I hardly ever have anyone riding in my back seat though. With the 4-door version, you will loose some cargo space and possibly some headroom for the back seats compared to the stock top.

You should have enough room for the headrests and people to sit in the back of the Jeep. Here is a picture of the interior of the back of a JKU with a Trektop.

Hopefully this helps! Feel free to shoot me a PM if you have any questions.
