Blacked out grill (pics)

Finally got around to blacking my grill out with bed liner. Super easy and I love it!

Next week I'll be putting in white mesh inserts and some HIDs to finish it off.

I would be interested in seeing this done on blue JK's, specifically the Steel Blue if anyone has done it.

I would be interested to see how it looks with the bumper applique removed. I can't say I'm a fan of the upside down emblem...

Is there a hidden benefit to this? Or is it just personal taste?

Well shoot! I'll be going out to get some bedliner ASAP

I meant do the body lines of the Wrangler cause exessive road debris damage?

My grill was getting stained with the bugs even after scrubbing them like mad I couldn't get the stains off so I decided this would work.

It's mainly cosmetic with help in keeping it look cleaner.

As for the emblem it spells deer being I'm an avid outdoorsman and I pretty much live in the deer woods 6 months of the year.

I didn't have the tools where I am at on vacation when I get home I will be removing them. I'll post up a picture for you but I'll be sure to put a caption "serves no purpose other than to make me happy" because cosmetic changes are blasphemy"

I'm trying to decide. Mixed emotions on the white. Maybe if the rims were black as well it would fit better? Just my thoughts. It's your rig and it's unique and apart from the rest. to that.

Oh by no means is it complete hah...I'll be getting new tires and a lift soon so I'll play with them when the time comes...I hate them silver rims they will be black soon enough.

Think the Sahara silver bumper things would look good white! Black wheels, black side steps and the blacked out hood decal (like the artic) would be a sweet set up!

Turned out pretty nice. With black rims it'll look even better. And I second nomadarmy's idea with painting the silver on the bumper white.

I agree I would love it in white but I know they would get destroyed on the rear one quick with all my hunting gear (bows guns deer stands etc etc) from loading and unloading. I figured removing or blacking them out would look nicer in the long run do they can take a little abuse.

I think the black rims will make it more complete. Post more pics when finished

How do you do the tires while still on just pack in behind the rim with paper or did you remove each tire?

Left the tires on wheels but had them off the Jeep. I had a bunch of old 5x7 index cards laying around and tucked them between the wheel and tire and taped them down. I did it last time I rotated my tires and just laid them on my garage floor and sprayed them. I did both sides of the wheels not just the outside.
