Blue Tooth Streaming

Whenever I stream music from an iphone, Pandora, device library, it will sometimes play like an old 33 rpm record on 45. This usually happens after a call or after I receive a notification or text. The stereo is stock, sales code RES with infinity seven speaker system. Anyone else experiencing this?

Mine cuts out/stops intermittently when I have it connected via USB. I havent been able to get it paired to stream via BT so dont know if there are any similar playback issues. Both my kids have tried to stream from their phones (android and iphone) and it doesn't pair or play. Phone calls work fine however. I have the 13 version RES and am awaiting my hard copy of the owners manual to see if there are some ideas in there.

I experience this and it is really annoying. If I get a text message that causes my iPhone screen to turn on this happens. It also happens if I turn the screen on myself. The screen has to be off completely for blutooth streaming to work.

Calls work fine, and when I get a new email you can hear the chime but the screen never turns on for emails so that is fine too.

If anyone has any solutions, I would love to hear em.

well the iphone is rather old, it may not just have the hardware to do it smoothly along with its other background proccess. any other the newer android phones shouldn't have a problem.

what stock radio would allow BT audio streaming? my 08 doesn't have the uconnect installed in it but i would love to be able to stream my music from my GS3

Are these issues with 2011 vehicles?
Does the streaming audio work fine as long as the "now playing screen backlighting is off and then starts choppy playback when the iPhone screen lights up?

You mentioned having the "13" version RES. Are you referring to the users manual or is this the year of the vehicle?
What phones have you tried to stream audio from? The iPhone should work fine as well as most Androids that I have tried.

I see I am not the only one with this issue. It's annoying! How to fix it? Posted similar thread on another forum, someone mentioned using a bluetooth extender and a radio cleaner. Anyone heard of these?

There is a fix but in order to give you the correct information, I need the year & build date of your vehicle.

Which version of the iPhone are you using? Anything other than a 4S just doesn't have the RAM necessary to support bluetooth streaming as well as background processes. I have an iPhone 4 and while it doesn't do this as frequently as yours does, facebook alerts and texts will cause the audio to skip briefly. Might want to try closing applications and deleting some unnecessary data off your phone. For whatever reason, the closer to capacity an iPhone is, it tends to perform MUCH slower.

xsdbs I am very interested in what information you have. I have a 2011 JKU with a build date of 4-11. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the vehicle information. Have you had the Uconnect SW update that came out at the dealers last June (2011) performed on your Jeep? If not then the current TSB # is 08-019-12. This will take care of the choppy audio issue.
If you are comfortable performing it yourself, it's rather easy. Below are the instructions:

You will need a thumb drive of at least 1 GB.
If you have files on the thumb drive, please delete them and format the drive (to FAT32) just to make sure that it is completely clean
Download it to the thumb drive that has no other files on it. Once it is downloaded to the thumb drive, please rename it so the file is uconnect.upd (basically delete everything up to Uconnect.upd).
Turn the radio on, Place the thumb drive in the center console USB connector (on vehicles with the dealer installed unit, it should be in the glove box), press and hold the Uconnect button for about 12 - 15 seconds, you should here "update started". This process should take about 15 - 20 minutes, there will be some beeps during the process. Please listen during the update for any error message that may be said by Uconnect. When the update is completed, the radio screen will go back to a radio display. Let me know how this works out for you.
And the file to download is at the link below:

*******NOTE****** This is ONLY for 2011 Chrysler vehicles with the Mitsubishi radios (RES, REQ, RHB & RBZ) that are built prior to 6-1-2011.

Hello, yes this streaming audio is only done if you have theUconnect system added to your vehicle (either one, factory or dealer installed)

I have an 08 Sahara with the MyGig. I had my dealer install a microphone and now UConnect is enabled. This allows my iPhone to be hands free via bluetooth.

With this setup, how can I stream audio to the unit from my iPhone 4S? Is it doable?

That'd be great, because using the AUX cable is a pain. Thanks.

I don't believe that streaaming audio was supported until 2010 or 2011.

Sorry - I have a 2013 JKUS built 7-29-12 with the stock 130 stereo (code RES). I can pair it for phone calls & texts with the Androids fine. Its the streaming music that is the problem. I have tried getting it to stream from a Galaxy 3 and iPhone 4S and it wont do either. I also added one of those phones as #2 in the setup list and it still didn't stream.

When connected to an iPhone 2/4s/Galaxy 3 via USB port in the console it does play but intermittently stops playing then usually starts again but occasionally does not.

xsdbs, tried the updated link and was able to update the stereo. Worked like a charm. Now I can switch between music apps or iPod and even use my Garmin app flawlessly. Thanks for all of your help.
