Bought a 2011 JKU, Underpowered? NO!

So I finally finished all my research and picked up a new 2011 Silver JKU. It is only a Sport but I love it! My wife loves it too which is an added bonus

I chose the 2011 over the 2012 after driving it. I had until today been driving a minivan. I found the power of the JKU to be as good as my minivan so I was satisfied. I guess I was lucky not to have high expectations. So I saved a few thousand and got a wonderful new friend.

Thank you all for answering all my previous questions and I can now proudly say I am a Wrangler owner.

You just swapped one minivan for another!! Rofl!!
JK, welcome and glad you love your new jeep, it is much better than a minivan in so many ways, just wait till the mod bug bites ya!! I traded to a JKU when we find out we had a second one on the way, and I absolutely love it too. I actually always say, I would rather drive it than a minivan!

I agree it is much better than the minivan. I'm just glad I didn't come from a more powerful car.

Haha, true. I went from 4cyl camary to a tj, to the JK. So I wasn't ever used to a ton of power either.
The topless and doorless feature is un beatable!

Remember, there is a break in period programed into the ECU, not sure on the mileage but, it will wake up a bit. If your happy now-just wait

The ECU is programmed for a break in period? What exactly does it do differently? Thanks.

OP good luck with your new wheels!

I really don't know, I've read different things. Here's a quote I found-

"It varies from maufacturer to manufacturer. A safe assumption is that the first 500 miles is the best breaking in period. That said on most modern cars now the engines no longer require this. Other would argue that you should drive it hard from the start as the ECU will adapt to your driving style.

Personally I always allow 500 miles before I consider redlining any new vehicle".

It maybe just a ECU deal- where It learns your driving habits. I bought my 07 with 35,000 and it has more pep now then the day I bought it a month ago. My jeep was owned by an older fellow and I'm
assuming it was driven more conservatively

Got it now! I read they learn drive habits etc, I wonder how that works when there are two drivers though?
