Brake Light/Turn Signal Help

Whats up everyone?...I drive a 2010 wrangler sport and it has about 28k miles. I left work the other day and noticed my left turn signal and brake light was not working. The signal on the dash beeps real fast when i put the left signal which i think means the bulb is fried. So i bought a new bulb, but when i unscrewed the brake light i couldn't get the bulb out. Is there a technique to getting this bulb out?...Its really clipped in there good. Also since i could not get it out i kept driving and it began working again so i figured something was probably loose and it got fixed when i opened it, but later that day the same thing happened and it stopped working. Should i just change the bulb? If so, how the hell do i get it off that clip? Also its weird because when i hit the alarm to lock the car the brake light flashes, but when i brake or try the turn signal it doesn't work. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I thought fast flashers were because of electrical. Wiring, spark plug, etc. No?

The Brake/turn signal/park lamp are dual filament bulbs. If you look at them you'll see two filaments inside. The Brake/turn signal filament is brighter and tends to blow first. Take a look at the "bad" bulb and confirm you have a bad filament. It is possible that the wire/conection may be loose.

When they are working properly, the affected light will blink faster. It also happened with my '92 YJ.

I't's been a while since I looked at them. I forget if there is a clip or if you just pull really hard. I'll have to check in the morning.

IIRC the reverse bulb is the same as the turn signal in case you get caught out there without a spare bulb, you can "borrow" that one until you get a proper replacement.

Push the bulb inward slightly, turn left about 1/8 turn, pull bulb out.

It's a 3157, blade type.
Jiggle it and pull out with a deliberate tug.

Hopefully it's just a bad bulb; replace them on both sides since one is usually not too far ahead of the other when death looms.

If your problem is still there, check for shorts to ground in the harness. The wires just sorta flop around in there and could be worn through somewhere.

Edit: don't replace it with a nonsense bulb like a Silverstar, LED, or any "long life" bulb. Get an honest 3157.
