Buying "slightly used" RCV Joints. Any advice?

A local jeeper is selling his RCV Performance Products joints. He said he just used them for a couple of months and never off road. He sold the jeep but somehow managed to keep them.
What should I look for during a visual inspection? He's asking about half retail price so it should be a no brainer, but I want to make sure I'm not wasting my money.
On a side note, I have the Teraflex Ball joints, and I heard they rub the RCV joints... Thoughts?
Thanks!
