Changing cloth seats to leather??

Local guy has a set of oem leather seat covers he had removed from his JKU and had custom leather seat covers made and switched with the oem. Has anyone taken their cloth seat covers off and replaced with take off leather ones from another jeep? I called a local upholstery shop to get an idea of labor cost to change them and he seemed to caution against it saying a oem cloth vs oem leather seat might not be interchangeable.

I have looked at those as options. These are oem and a very good deal though.

I installed katzkin on my jku and it was not that hard. A days project to do it right. Yes you can install take offs from another jeep as long as they are interchangeable. Make sure that his model seats are the same as yours( JKU have 07-10,11-12,13-18 i believe) as well as check if your jeep has airbags in your seats. If they do then for his to work they have to have airbags on his. The leather cover is the same but the airbag one has a different material/stitch that breaks easy on the side The bag deploys. If yours does not have an airbag in the seat and his does , his will work.

The Trainrecon guy on Youtube has a video on this.
The company who makes the covering also has heated seat add ons available I believe.
