There a nice touch and there not much of a distraction while night driving.

Well, if you knew somebody in Canada, you could send them some cash, and they could ship them to you.....even with shipping it would still be hella cheap...

So how much do you charge for 3rd class shipping to Texas?

You could probably make a buck or two by buying these and selling them to US residents in the classifieds!

Added a combo lock, and a cell phone finger ring to my best top center console lock box. Now I won't need to fuss with a key, and better yet won't have to turn off my engine to get the key since it is on my key ring. The ring is so I can open it since I don't have the key anymore to pull it open. The arm rest needs to be pressed to close now, so I'm looking for a cam lock that is smaller that 5/8" from dial to the lid. If anyone knows of one please let me know.

Some American stores may have something similar, although you might not be able to screw it into your windshield bracket like the supercycle one.

The first was door edge guards. $4.97 at Autozone, 10 minutes. I think Ill get a another pack and finish it all the way to the hinge.
The second was painting the muffler. I just couldnt understand why Jeep left that large, silver can hanging out there when everything else visible is black? Cost was $5 at Ace Hardware for the Valspar High-temp grill paint. Time was 20 minutes, including scrubbing the muffler with steel wool.
The third was a seat organizer. I seldom have a passenger, the rear seat is in the garage under a tarp, so I installed this organizer on the front seat. Just clips in place at the headrest. I put a shock cord through the bottom loops and around the seat to keep it from sailing when the top is off. Cost was $8 from some place on E-Bay a few years ago. It's a transplant from a couple Patriots I owned. Time was 5 minutes.
I'm going back through these cheap mods in my spare time and apparently I missed this one. I really like the painted muffler. Looks much better. I'll probably be doing this in the near future.

I never even thought to paint the muffler but I bet that does look better. I have a couple cans of high temp spray paint in my shed... might be something I do this weekend.

^ just touched my muffler up the other day. Grabbed a wire brush and scratched it up real good, cleaned with Xylene, and rattle can high temp black. Looks superb?

It's a very easy and nice upgrade. I've done a few. I've stopped over-thinking it, and the last two were minimally prepped. I just used carb cleaner to hose it off, wiped it with a paper towel, and sprayed. After a year, they are holding up perfectly.

Hey Jamie, I see you're in NC. I'm also in NC and I was thinking about doing this mod until I did some research and found out this does not satisfy NC law. I'll attach a link to the statute but it basically says that any vehicle manufactured on or after Jan. 1, 1966, must have a rear view mirror mounted on the outside of the vehicle on the driver's side. Now that being said I know tons of people that go doorless and mirrorless, with only the windshield mounted mirror. I've also done it. I have never heard of anybody being stopped or getting a ticket for not having the outside mirror. But I guess there's always that possibility. These laws vary from state to state. I'm going to come up with some type outside mirror, just to be on the safe side.

Here's the link: § 20-126

Great thread!!! It took me about 3 days but I finally made it through all 128 pages. Once I started it was impossible to stop until I went through every page. Got a lot of good ideas. Thanks to all who have shared and will share their mods.

Actually 129 pages. I hit 8 instead of 9 and can't seem to edit the post.

OK.....just bought a '14 JK & trying to take the rear headrests off. I thought maybe I just wasn't strong enough(even though I'm not a tiny female) but my husband can't get them off either. And yes, we are pushing in the hidden button on the right hand side. Anything else we are missing?

There are buttons on both sides, awkward as heck but I was able to do one side at a time then pull the head rest off

This one looks to come with a short cam that might work for you(?):

Bugout, very nice! I have the same teraflex hinge on the back. Do you happen to know the bolt size of those holes by the teraflex logo? I want to do the same thing that you did.

Thanks in advance for your time!

On my old Jeep I had a cheapie Wal-Mart universal side mount mirror that I bungeed to the roll bar near the windshield. It stuck out past the side of the Jeep and provided my "legal mirror". I actually got pulled over for not having a side mirror... and the cop scared himself when he finally noticed it... he was standing right next to it. Ended up not getting the ticket.
I think the cost came in around $15.

good idea but the directions state to push the wheel against the swing and then tighten the mount pinch bolts. This will allow for the wheel to be stable
