Great news. I went through 2 heads before 25K and now have 62K on my Jeep. 10 years and 150K miles extended warranty is great. News: Chrysler stands behind heads

Yup, so any 2013's built in the summer of 2012 (prior to July 25th) have the AB heads (which were still bad). After that, all JK's got the AC heads. I can't remember when the cut-of was for the AA heads....sometime in the early summer of 2012 as well.
Thanks for posting! After having the changeout fairly early on, the engine - and everything else - has been great on mine. This gives me some piece of mind.
Let's hope they do the same for the 2014 oil cooler/adapter issue, which actually appears to affect a higher percentage of vehicles than the head issue.
This is great news! Just had my head replaced in April. I was never impressed with the performance of my pentastar engine. I thought replacing the head would help. 500 miles on the new head and no change. Runs like it did before. Sometimes when I take off from a start, it seems to pulse a little. (I am not sure if pulse is the right word) I just know when you put your foot on the skinny petal you expect to start moving smoothly. Not hesitating with a slight sputter. I think a trip back to the dealer is in order. Sorry about my rant.
Just glad to hear this news.
This is some of the best news I've seen. As a Semi retired person, my Jeep is a Nice Day Use vehicle and as such get's very low miles put on it. As a 2012 with only 8000 miles on it, I was getting concerned that what happens IF I have a bad head and it's at 12,000 miles and it's 4-5 years old? Then what?
There was a AA head then an AB head then an AC head. Just saying that if your build date was not 207(2) year then you do not have the final engineering design.
You guys can actually thank GM. Because of what has transpired at GM in the last 6 months with tons of buried issues thay should have been taken care of or recalled, auto manufacturers are scared shitless of things coming out of the wood work and bad press. Pentastar heads, well thats a lot of cars, big numbers for "engine failure"make headlines. I would be surprised if and '12 or early '13 made it out of its powertrain warranty without a new head. All seem to happen well before the mileage threshold. Mine got a head at 16k. So the 10/150 for the LEFT cylinder head is just feel good paperwork that will likely never be used.
Not only did they deny there was a problem, they lied about it. I wrote them in late 2012 when the problem had blown up and got a cleverly worded letter back saying there was "absolutely no problem with the 2012 Wrangler heads"! Then I began trading in my 2012's for ones built after the design change.
Just for the Canadians here...I got my letter from Chrysler Canada today extending my power train warranty to 10 years or 240,000kms for my left head. This is nice peace of mind for sure!
Thanks for the info. I keep forgetting to ask if the PO already had the issue. I'm about 35k Kms right now.
