2018 Willys JKU purchased in April with a manual transmission; traded a 2014 Willys JK. Will be rolling over the 10,000 mile mark in the next week.

This 2018 is getting delivered to me from a dealer !! Very excited I’ll be checking it over thoroughly making sure everything is right. What all comes with the Willys package? Trail kit, slush mats, tool kit... is there anything else?

Is there storage bags for the hard top panels as well? Any tips to check or look for before I hand over my trade and check?

My dealer shorted me on the trail kit, but they made good on it and I didn’t discover this until about 2 weeks after I took delivery

Mine came with the optional rear locker but it was the only 1 on the lot with it. It also had the W package.

No Trac loc LSD is standard on Willys. Tru Loc Rear locking diff, not LSD, was an option on 2018 Willys and other special editions like the big bear. I didn't care if it had it or not. I just wanted a red, 2dr, soft top and this one was the only one they had.

My Willys doesn’t have the Tru Loc, but I noticed when I got my production configuration tree from Plumcrazy that only 8% of 4500 Willys 4 doors got that option.
That comes out to 360 4 door Wranglers globally that checked that box.
2 doors numbers are probably similar.

A Willys with all the options, yes I did not want the hardtop, but I have the Premium soft top just as I ordered it.

If a Willys has the optional Tru Loc, does that mean it has an open differential all of the time until it is activated by a dash switch?

And if I were ordering mine I would not have added it either. I bought mine in Feb right as the JL was hitting the dealership and jk inventory started getting low. My wheeler W was 29,737 out the door and at the time that was a great price, considering at my local dealer, the 2 Dr soft top willys was by far their best seller.

I had to have the Alpine sub, was my main option..and manual transmission. So looking for those two things, made it tough. Everything was out of state for me. Even used was difficult.

My main option was the auto. Without that my wife would not be on board and you don't get to 25 years of marriage without the wife being on board. The weekend my local dealer dropped jk prices by 5-6000, there were two willys I considered. The firecracker red one I ended up with or a granite crystal one my wife liked with no rear locker and no wheeler W package that was 2000 less. I wanted the red one as it is my favorite with the black trim and wheels. My wife calls it a "symbol of opression"; aka, "the oppression mobile". Lol

This is oh so true. If the wife doesn’t like the carriage she won’t let you forget. My wife doesn’t care for my C7 Vette, so I’m struggling to keep it. She wants it gone in the worst way. What is that?!

My wife wants me to sell my land cruiser as well. It's the only standard tranny vehicle we have and I'll never sell.

That thing is choice! I would NEVER sell it. I saw a beautiful example yesterday and gave the driver a thumbs up, which he appreciated. By the way, Semper Fi, brother! OH-3 here.

Well I'm at 23+ years, and I had to get stick, so she wouldn't take it and I'd get stuck with the Mazda. lol. She's fine with it, tells me get what I want. I like a manual, $1500 cheaper, but I like the extra control with the gears and coasting a lot trying save on gas. Plus, it's truly a theft deterrent anymore.

To be fair, I've offered to teach her to drive stick many times.

Yep, Semper Fi, Mac. My last duty station was as a DI at Pensacola NAS right before they moved their AOCS.

just put a tf performance level on my wheeler. Anyone put 295/70s with spacers on their willy wheels? If so, how does she drive? They say 7.5 is minimum width but people say 285 is max for performance of tire/wheel.

Decided I want some BFG KO2's for the new Willys. Can someone tell me what's the next size up I can from the stock BFG MT"s? using the stock wheels., but without going into a lift. I don't mind using some leveling/spacers to get a bit of clearance. I just loved the way the KO2s on my TJR. Very good in winter here and very quiet. I figure I should sell these stock ones while they have so little miles.
