Confused, I am (another soft top thread)

I've read enough threads about soft tops to make my head spin, but can't seem to find a definitive answer to what top allows me to keep my Alien Shade (front seat version) attached with a Soft Top. It appears the OEM version does, but the Supertop NX does not.

Others claim that both tops are identical. What am I missing? Can I make the Supertop work?

They're identical except that the Supertop NX has a bar (the "top arch") running across the front. That might be what's stopping you from using a shade.

The Trektop NX probably won't work because it utilizes the holes in the sound bar, and a lot of shades bungee through that.

Thanks. Can one run the Supertop without the arch?
