creaking clutch.

I tried to search but didn't come up with much so here It goes. Anyone here have a creaking clutch? 2013 Rubicon with 7000 miles. When the motor is at operating temp my clutch makes a creaking sound when pushing the pedal down. Like you are shutting an un greased door very slowly. I plan on taking it in next week, but was hoping to find some support here, as I feel it being a clutch thing the dealership it going to throw a fuss. This this is babied so I know it's not from abuse.

Many of the NSG-370(6speed manual used since 2004) creak when the clutch is depressed. Mine does it a little as do many other ppl's jeeps on here. Although its discouraging to have a new jeep do something like this, it isn't out of the ordinary and usually dealers will just say its normal

I have the chirp as well some times. At first I thought throw out bearing, but that was 25k miles ago. Now it's just normal

Yep, mine's Random too.

Sometimes it'll do it every time I Shift, sometimes it won't make a Sound for a Month.

I'll Worry about it when the Clutch Pedal doesn't come off the Floor or it won't go into Gear.

For anyone following this, took her to the dealer today. After the test drive they decided to order a new "clutch kit". Not too sure what that all includes but I'm happy something is getting done though. Looks like I'm jeepless for a while.

I also have the creaking noise when depressing the pedal and rattle on idle with clutch out after it has been driven for a while. Dealer installed a clutch kit and all was good for about a month and both noises are back. Both of the noise come back after I've driven for a while or tow a small 4x8 trailer. I've also noticed that the noise will go away after i go in reverse and idle?? Also, when it is rattling on idle, depressing the clutch pedal a bit makes the noise go away, coincides with the TSB to add washers to add force from the fork. Anyways, what do you guys think of this National brand TOB?

Hi brian d, your going through the same issues I am... I have a 2012 and had the same thing happen around your mileage. I have had what you are having done, also had the tob replaced. about 6000 miles after that the slave cylinder failed and had to have it towed. Things I noticed before that happened was the clutch peddle started to feel lighter, and was squeaking. The Creaking noise you are experiencing I believe "could be wrong" is the clutch fork not being lubricated enough. I will be taking my jeep back in for that and I also think my master cylinder may be leaking or I have a small pressure leak in a line somewhere to do with the trans. have a slight coating of a clear oily substance on some components on the left side of my engine and suspension area that I believe is brake fluid. I will update as I know more. I also have the chirp after releasing the clutch but notice it seems to chirp with any significant difference of torque is applied. Like letting off the gas and accelerating will often time cause the chirp. The closest thing I can think of that could cause this would be the manual transmission clutch disc. There was a tsb on it for the 2007-2008 wranglers. Hope this helps and keep us updated on what happens.

mine started creaking after they tried to fix my transmission rattle. most likely they did not lubricate the throw out bearing or input shaft correctly. i also get a huge amount of clutch chatter. eh. what can you do.

Good Luck. My dealer had no problem installing a new clutch kit under warranty but it only lasted about a month before the symptoms came back, that's why I'm looking for an after market solution for the TOB. I'm not very picky but the rattling noise when sitting at a light is loud and annoying.

I have an 09 Rubi with about 46K miles on it. I'm not sure at what mileage it started to "creak" like an old rocking chair. It made that noise when depressing the clutch pedal. It made that noise regardless if the engine was running or shifting gears. Everything else seemed to work "normal" so I didn't care about the noise. But, I'm going on an offroad 5k mile trip (75% street 25% dirt/fire roads) . I decided to take it to the dealership. They replaced the clutch master cylinder and blead the system. They charged 155 parts and 335 labor. I got the Jeep back and it was fixed It looked like they also replaced the clutch pedal.

After the fact, if time wasn't an issue I would of just purchased the master cylinder myself and taken it to a local garage for about ~ 2hrs worth of labor. But, since I'm going cross country I need the warranty on the work and the dealership network in case something goes wrong.

I have the same issue and the dealer just keeps telling me it's normal and doesn't want to do anything about it. I've now also noticed an occasional chirping that I thought was coming from the suspension since I just put a lift on a couple of weeks ago. I re-torqued everything last night and lubricated all bushings. Then when I pulled into work this morniing, I realized the chirp had gotten steadily louder and was doing it at idle once I pulled into a parking space. Seems like other guys have had an issue with the water pump bearings, so I guess I'll be going back in to the stealership.

Mines creaked since I bought it with 30k. I did bring it back and they wanted me to see if it got any worse. Learned to live with it I guess.

Got the Jeep back this morning and I'm a happy Jeeper! The transmission finally feels right after they replaced the input shaft bearings and the throwout bearings. Chirp is gone with the install of the new water pump. The rear diff, I'll just keep an eye on and probably go to Riddler covers when needed.
