When you say test fit the banjo bolt did your kit come with a new one?

Yes. If yours doesn’t, you can reuse oem.

Trying to get my Mopar BBK installed this weekend. Got the BB and MC in and tips from members here sure helped. Barely enough room without having to move the ABS, but I got it by trimming the MC mounting studs on the BB. All good there.

I thought the rest would be easy, but Mopar threw me a curve with a different style clip on the brake pads. I think I got them figured out, but I'd appreciate someone who installed this kit chiming in?

Can you take a pic of the package...especially the ones that the rotors are packaged in?

Be sure to test fit the banjo bolt to the caliper.

I can't quite make out the difference vs stock, but essentially what they do is retain the pad in the caliper slots snuggly to eliminate knocking, and also push the pads away from the caliper when the pedal is released to eliminate pad drag. If they'll work that way you have 'em right.

I was missing the understanding of; which way the clip was supposed to push the pad? I had them on backwards...naturally.

The video got me straightened out and everything is installed now, down to bleeding the system today.

Thanks!

One little bit more help needed...

OK, my kit is installed, bled and works amazing!

But, I still need to adjust the brake light switch. The lights are on all the time.

Anyone have a clue? I don't.

Thanks again!

@FootSoldier I remember another user had an issue. Deepbluerubi has a trick.

The switch is adjustable. You just need to reach underneath and pry the plunger out a few notches with the pedal partially depressed. When brake pedal goes back up it will adjust the plunger to the correct length. It clicks out like a zip cable tie. I've posted along with a few others that it needs to be done with the mopar big brake kit. Just a few clicks is all that is needed.

Flat blade screwdriver push down brake pedal and then pry out end of brake pedal switch switch, it's like a zip tie. Just a few clicks, then release brake pedal slowly and it will adjust to the new pedal height.

Yes, from the end, has a small lip, it moves pretty easy with a blade. Can't do it with just your fingers

Got it with a trim tool. 3 clicks out and it works great!

I was a little nervous about taking this mod on, but as usual, many here helped me over the top. The new brakes are an amazing upgrade!

Glad it worked out. I wish FCA would do the rear also. They have rear rotors from the SRT grand Cherokee or the new JL. just need a custom caliper bracket like they did with the fronts. I have the terraflex rears , but really unhappy with the quality of their components, fit of the clips, finish is terrible, really need a slightly larger diameter too. When the rear pads wear out I will try the Dynatrac even though I feel they might be a bit too large and are really overpriced. However I think the quality has to be better. Can't believe no one has made a 13.75"-14" rear vented rotor kit. The military axle comes with it, but drilled wrong pattern and the brackets don't line up to our jk axles. You will like the mopar setup, really hauls it to a controlled quick stop when needed.

I agree. If Mopar would have made rears available to match the fronts, that would have been a home run. At $700 the fronts are a great value in my mind and I was really pleased with the finished product. I had a couple little things I had to do to get it all together.

I cut the studs on the BB that mount the MC about 3/8" so I could work the MC in. I had to grind and file about .020" off the end of my aftermarket brake line mounting block at the caliper to get the banjo bolt to line up. No biggie, just what happens when we're mixing and matching aftermarket stuff.

Since I couldn't get myself to wait with a little patience to see if Mopar brought out something for the rear, I went with Dynatrac rears. They are a tight fit, but the product seems like total quality.

Having it done, I can say that this is one of the best mods I've done on my Jeep. I really feel good about how this $1250 was spent.

Ahhh... you brought up a good point. There was another user that had the same issue with his aftermarket brake line block.

Users be aware that your aftermarket brake lines might have slight issues. I have Rock Krawler brake lines and mine didn't have issues.

I am using RK brake lines as well.

I tried and tried, but I just couldn't get the bolt to start threading. Then I stuck a light in there, took a pic, blew it up on the computer, bingo! Old eyes couldn't see it right off, but the fingers could still feel it.

Relieved a little material with a Dremil tool and dressed it up with a file. A little dab of paint, and bolted up sweet. Actually everything fit up well, especially compared to the old days when nothing aftermarket fit together, nothing.

@FootSoldier ... perhaps that was my slight issue as well. I couldn't get the supplied banjo bolt to fit during installation so i reused the oem banjo bolt.

The springs are on backwards. I don't think they would clear the rotor the way you have them on there? The springs/clips should push the pads away from the rotor.

So I installed this kit a few weeks ago, I no longer DD my JKU but I have driven it enough recently to have this to say about the kit...It NEEDS either the mopar booster OR at least the master cylinder from crown. I don't have either right now but the pedal feel is terrible, very soft, and the travel is way too much. Feels like I'm pushing the pedal to the floor every time.

I had the same issue at first with pedal to the floor. I had to re-bleed the system and never had it all the way to the floor ever since.

After a couple weeks, I installed mopar BB, and MC (teraflex/crown have the same bore, but mopar is bigger). A combination of improved response to the brake system and more firmness.

I had the same issue but I already had the Mopar brake booster and master cylinder and it made all the difference in the world. You can find it for around $230 for both. Bought mine off eBay.

Installed my Crown BBK and Terraflex rear rotors, no issues other than missing the pad clips for front pads no biggie 07 ram and $ 10.00 local parts store my thoughts MY JKU is heavy with bumpers, winch, skid plates 35's, heavy rims etc

Installed the rear first and drove it, made noticeable difference in stopping pedal effort same

installed the fronts BBK after good bleed the difference was night and day, no pedal creep really, as mine is 17 so will not install the bigger booster and cylinder as see no need for it my style driving this was good enough plus I run a M&G brake adapter between the master cyl and booster for towing so no room to go forward, the pedal was better than before on to the next mod
