For those of you that pay tax on 4 Wheel Parts orders...Quadratec matched their price for me (you just have to call), free shipping and no tax (9.5%)...it will go out tomorrow.

Just ordered mine. 4wp paid the tax. It shows up like ian addition and then is in red and taken back off the price. Total savings for me $181 and a few more pennies. Now I need a sale on the Mopar master cylinder and booster kit.

What is everyone running for the rear axle? I just ordered the front Crown set.

Also do the later JKs (i have a 2017) need the MC and booster upgraded? I have heard people say they are already bigger and no need.

Thanks for this...

Is this the rear part # Z36-898 for the rear Power Stop pads that we can use for the JK?

Gonna order the Z36-1084 for the front set.

I've got the Teraflex 4304450 BRK.

By comparison, it doesn't seem like a great value, but it works very well.

Some are using the Teraflex or Dynatrac rear BRK. Others are stock including myself. Crown is currently developing their own BRK and should be released sometime next year.

TBH with the MC/BB upgrade, i say install the kit first and upgrade to preference if your not satisfied. Some are ok with just the BBK and oem BB/MC, and others are not on their 2012+. I decided to run the BBK for a week before installing the MC/BB upgrade. My decision to upgrade the MC/BB is because i will be upgrading the rears as well. Since the Crown BBK is priced right, i just went along and did it.

When I looked it up. For the stock rear calipers, the Z36 rear power stop pads came up as Z36-1274.

I just checked out the price of the Teraflex Rear Big Rotor Kit. Lowest price on a quick search is about the same as the Crown BBK.

I'm going to wait for the Crown Rear BRK to come out. My jk has about 25k miles since i last replaced the rear pads with oem. My oem rear were replaced at 38k.

I'm also going to wait for the Crown Rear BBK but then further wait for your feedback to let us know if you felt it was worth doing the rear upgrade. Gonna go with the power stop Z36 rear pads in the mean-time.

I'm running the Powerstops in the rear also. When Crown gets their rear kit out, I'm going to look seriously at it.

When I upgraded, I did it all in one shot. I just didn't want to take the chance and $275 was small change to pay for my ability to stop.

Add another to the list of people waiting for the rear BRK. Hopefully that Crown rep sees this and they give us an update or speed up the release!

Yes, even the specs of what they are planning would be useful to my decision. Posted it a few times, all we need is to adapt the 1500 dodge rears. 14" vented rotors and two piston calipers. The rotors will work just need to re-drill the pattern, need a caliper bracket fabbed. You will most likely need 18" or larger diameter wheels or spacers, but that would mate up well with the mopar front kit and booster/mc combo. Should be inexpensive and I think it will sell. If not, I will most likely do the baer 14" rears, they had a black Friday deal 10% off so about $1830 and change. Just six piston is imo unnecessary and more possibility for maintenance issues in a typical jeep environment. Otherwise I see no downside with that setup. Or just go the dynatrac rear kit combined with the mopar fronts is what I see on the JL. I have the terraflex rear setup, it's just too small, 1/2" diameter more than stock. The rears are already 12.5", my fault for not researching better. I had a spec of 12" oem rears. Plus the fit and finish on the terraflex is terrible.

Maybe the Dynatrac rears are just the way to go. Crazy price, though.

14" may fit on 17" wheels but it is going to be close. The PR60 rear axle I have came with J8 rear brakes which have a 13.9" rotor and it is very very close fit with a 17" wheel, but it does work. Myself personally, I would not consider an 18" wheel for a very minimal increase in braking.

Are you saying you got the Power stop rear rotor and brake pad combo?

I added the Mopar BBK, I didn't feel my rears needed upgraded other than what the Mopar kit provided for additional rear braking with the MC and Booster additions. I'm still interested in hearing from others who owned either the Crown or Mopar BBK and then later added the Crown or even TF rear BBK and what they felt they gained from it.

What did that axle cost you soup to nuts? Could I get it with 4:10's?

Yes, but I think they are quality parts, engineered well, most likely will fit properly and hopefully not rust immediately. I agree at least $100 too much, but no competition, they had to make up the $ spent on R&D for the revised bracket. It literally came out about week after I bought the terraflex rear kit. Rots of luck on my part............ G2 has a similar setup now with a dimpled/slotted rotor that is less. I wouldn't chance it though after the terraflex junk. I had no idea something relatively simple could go so bad.

I gained on unsightly, ill fitting part with the Terraflex rear setup. No real difference in braking except maybe because my wallet was lighter.............

I didn't buy it for the brakes! One thing to consider is that these axles are 3" wider than factory axles (you can get them wider than that if you want) and they are 8 on 6.5 so new wheels are needed. After considering all my options, running adaptors on the front was not a consideration for me, I ended up getting a front and rear set. I sold my front PR44 for a decent price and that helped. I did get a quotation for a rear only with locker for around $7.5K The front and rear set is $13K and is really the way to go as there is around a $2K savings vs. buying separate.

I thought I looked into it, yes I currently do not want to change out my wheels. Thanks for the input though. The mopar j8 axle was another option, but different pattern and also changing spring perches, locker issue....... The hunt continues.

No to the rotors, just the pads. I'm waiting for Crown to get thier kit out before I decide which way to go.

Running the Mopar BBK on 2013 JK for about 2k miles now...Wondering the same. I get the impression that we don't need to change the rear after the whole front kit upgrade. Best upgrade you can make!

Where did you get that kit? They seem to have dried up after the introduction of the JLs. I have a 2015 and want to do that upgrade.

I got Crown Kit from Quadratec earlier in the year but 4 Wheel Parts just had them on sale for their 12 days of Christmas.

They are out there, just need to look.
