I also have a set in 16" for my trail wheels, also rattlecanned, but this time I went the cheap route -- no expensive MOPAR Anvil for me. I think I used Duplicolor Medium Gray from HD. The 16s look better but required just a little grinding on the outside of the front calipers. Not much at all.
Thanks, those look sharp. When its time to go up in tire I may go to those in a 16" up from 15" Soft 8s. Stock brakes and calipers?

Yes, stock brake setup. The 16s physically fit over the front calipers but you could hear them touching on the top outside corner. I went around the neighborhood slowly and braked a couple times, which marked up the spot on the calipers where the wheel was touching, so grinding them down was easy. Rears fit no problem.

OP, obviously you value our opinion more than your own or you wouldn't have asked. Good call!

I'm not sure what the question was, and I'm already far too invested in this thread to go back and re-read it, but if it involved something along the lines of does this look good or is this a good idea... then the clear answer is no. Listen to us. We're like that big brother with good taste you never had, who could have helped you avoid all of this. But it's not too late! Take em off, take em back. (Actually, 6" KC Gravity LEDs, if that's what you have, are fantastic lights. A pair of them at the base of the windshield and another on the bumper would be just right. Here you go: a tutorial)

Cheers!

You rarely disappoint!

Members on this forum can be extremely judgmental. Thou shall not have wheels larger than 17", install any aftermarket grille, or drive thy Jeep to the mall.

If it's non-functional, don't do it. Make sure you act like you don't care about cosmetic things or you'll lose your bad-ass card.

It's difficult to take posts like this seriously, you're judging people who were asked to judge. The OP asked what people thought, and that's what they received. There's no need to chastize anyone because they did precisely what the OP wanted.

You are absolutely right. If people ask for opinions, like this poster, it is fair game.

I should have clarified that I was not speaking to those commenting in this thread. Rather it is more to unsolicited comments in other threads.

Agreed, and I think everyone did a great job with their feedback and probably some held back the big guns. I especially liked the post from @NoGaBiker . If someone posts” hey I just put a 10 pound turd on my hood, isn’t this awesome, aren’t I great,” I would hope they don’t get the “it doesn’t matter what I think, it matters what you think, it’s your Jeep.” They need honesty to help them from being a social outcast and going on to lead the troubled and tortured life.

On a general note, on public forums one can expect to get some less than stellar critique when they make a post or submit a picture, that’s just the way things are. if you want to be lied to, there are better places to solicit opinions.

Let me clarify my post above just a bit, and it is fine if people don't agree...

To be clear, in this thread, everyone so far is doing great with comments. As gravitywell noted, all is fair game when you post a pic and ask for comments.

I think the pic with the tanning bed on the Jeep is damn funny and creative. Opinions, even strong ones should be expected. I have strong opinions myself. I don't like the lights on the OP's post for example- at all.

With that out of the way, I think there is a line between good natured ribbing, like flipping your friends sh** (which is my standard method of interacting with my friends), and mean-spirited disdain or disgust (and nobody in this thread has crossed that line IMO).

I am no hippie and I am not shooting for world peace, but in some threads here on WF, people cross the line, as it seems like the comments come from a place of hate/venom or school yard bullying, as opposed to strong opinions or just being funny.

I just don't get why some would get that worked up about another member's parts choices to the point where it goes beyond teasing. Perhaps others don't see it that way. No big whoop.

I see that we're in agreement. But don't forget the cowbell.

If you're still looking for a real answer, the large lights on the hood seem to be too big to me. It's going to give visibility problems with parking, and pedestrians, and on the trail.

Also, if the lights on the hood are flood lights, you're going to get lots of glare off the hood. If they're spot lights, it'll have less glare.

I'd imagine you'd have trouble getting the hood fully open for doing engine work.

While the dripping-semen font on the windshield isn't my style, it also looks to be off-center.

In all honesty, am I the only one that thinks that @Lift it posted this just to start a comedy thread? I don't think it was an honest inquiry... ...or I hope not anyhow.
