Employee pricing...

Question:
How much off can you get from employee pricing on a New Fully loaded Rubicon?

I have a pt that was nice enough to offer it to me. Unfortunately, I just bought my 2016 JKURHR (and love it). That said, I did consider a new one.. What would it cost me?

I believe its 5% off of the invoice. People say its not really all that great, but IMO I got know I got a decent deal without having to haggle. (Im not the sort of person that enjoys the haggling process)

I can get more than 5% without that, had my local down to 9% off invoice.

Yes I have heard alot of people saying they got around 10% off of the invoice on the JLs. In that case it might not be worth it, but I think using it as a starting point could still only help you.

When I was shopping for a JK and eventually bought my Recon, every single dealer said they wished Jeep would give them some rebates on the Wrangler but didn't. I really think that Chrysler just jacked the price up on the JLs so that dealers could mark them down more, increasing the "perceived value" as I once heard somebody put it.

You're right on the money there...

My understanding is that Jeep has never offered a dealer hold back/rebate on the wrangler product, ever.. they never had too. That said, it may soon be that they might for the simple reason that they are increasing the volume of them and thats when you start to have stale inventory if you don't incentivize.. IMO what hurt the consumers chance at rebates, sooner than later, was the introduction of the Unlimited line and now the JT. It again reduce the volume of the wrangler 2 dr by allowing other limited runs.

There are several levels of employee pricing. One of them goes to 20% off invoice. So it depends on what you can qualify for.
I've gotten both 10 and 20 off.

Including all rebates and incentives. Should've said that. Plus TTT. Still was good.

I think that 5% below invoice is their big main one though and you'd need VP+ approval for more.

Here is an example I found over in another forum. Its a JL, not a JK, but should be applicable.

Sticker (MSRP) is $52,410
Invoice (FWP) is $49,297
Friends/Family/Affiliate (FFP) is $48,879
Employee (EP) is $47,032

Paying 20% off of Invoice would be $39,438 !!!! That's one heck of a deal!‬

Im, not in NJ. I'm from there and on most vehicles they will.. I'm a health care professional now, but I worked in finance for 13 years. Most of that was in auto finance (on the bank side). Invoice is not asking a lot on most vehicles. That said, if you go into a dealership and say," hey I want 5% below invoice". they say,"no we'll give you $100 over invoice." And you say, "Hey thats great I'll take it." Then in most situations, you just paid too much...

Look for white elephants on the lot/inventory. Something that Joe Mallcrawler didn't want and made the unit a no-sale, stuck on their floorplan.
For me last time, manual transmission. I wanted the manual and just searched in the mallcrawl vicinity until I found one that was on their floorplan a long time. They were overjoyed to help me.

There are many different ways of doing it based on dealership and vehicle(i'm not going to go thru each way). If someones wants help with a specific situation, i'm happy to help. The two easiest ways of starting the process is;

1) Have all the information before going into a dealership (education is power and the one that has the power gets the better deal) i.e.;

2019 Wrangler Unlimited - Trim: Sport w/ 4WD. Powered by a 3.6L V6
MSRP$31,545
Invoice Price$31,007
Destination Fee$1,495
Holdback$946
Dealer Cost$31,556

2) Always start the process on-line. Get one sales person to commit to a very low price. shop that price. others will cut the price by $200-400 to steal the deal. Than take it to the dealer of you choice to say,"look this is what they're willing to do. If you want my business you'll have to match/beat it.."

Hope this helps,

Jeff B.

Kind-of along those same lines, my "chosen" dealer even told me to shop around, get my best price, come back, and he'll beat it by $400. And he did.

SMART: That way he always gets the last opinion/shot.

Don't forget, these dealers get volume incentives. They will get paid on a loser (vehicle not buyer). If at the end of the month they are at 298 cars sold and at 300 cars sold they get a $25,000 bonus, you better believe they will sell those last 2 cars at a $500 loss.

Yup.
Shop the last 2 days of the month or the first 2. They still count last month this month if it was close to a bonus.

Must be nice! Supposedly here in CA it's advertised price or nothing. I'm sure we can do some deals but they aren't wrong that the jeeps fly off the lot here. This is not including JTs which I understand they have super marked up and are not moving in volume yet.

I'll never be held hostage. My sale might not be important to one particular dealership, but I wont be held hostage. Besides, what better way to break in a Jeep than by driving it home from another state...

One of the most beautiful states on the East Coast.. understanding every state has it's good areas and bad. That quote is true enough to make me leave. Most of my family left, for different reasons, so I felt I had an opportunity to spread my wings a little. It was great. Life is funny and now I'm moving back up, but I'm staying just over the bridge in Delaware.

There is natural beauty for sure, it's the over abundance of unnatural ugly where I draw the line. I left CA six years ago, because the whole package just didn't add up to a win for me. I've been from one end to the other and everywhere in-between and seen what I needed to see over 15 years. Surveys point to over half of the people that live in CA want to leave the state, and it's not because of lack of natural beauty.

I grew up in Joisey and went to the University of Dela Where?
Delaware's better.... NJ has an odor up north. Hard to describe really; sort of like hypoid gear oil mixed with Ragu pasta sauce and a little self-tanning lotion.
