Extreme Terrain

Who is our forum contact at XT.
I vaguely remember Jake said someone else was taking over for him.

I just called to place an order.
Apparently they are no longer doing forum discounts.

Well, well, well. That's interesting but I'm not surprised.

I have not bought a lot from them, mainly because their CS and pricing sucked. Unfortunately, Quadratec is getting the same way on both pricing and lack of Customer Service.

Q has been great with me. Things show up in a day or two, not damaged, no shipping charge. I haven't called them on price-match but they always give the discount.

Lately the problem with Q has been their customer service. Cant find invoices even when given the invoice number, not following up with vendors on warranty issues, not following up with customers, customers being told they don't do tech support, etc.

They have no problem taking your order and shipping it quickly but the after sales support has taken a huge decline. And lately, their pricing has been inconsistent. All within the last year.

I think customer service is down everwhere in all industries.
Quality customer service is rare in 2019.

Me also. Just received some hella lights that the bulbs were damaged during shipment. Called them and they sent out two at no charge. Very friendly customer service. Also got discount. Takes about a week to get here... brown truck folks can’t find my town.

I have bought from ET on many occasions and no issues whatsoever. I needed to contact them once and they were quick to response. Sometimes we only get one side of the story.

I'm not denying people's issues or implying anything, just saying that an unhappy customer is more likely to vent his/her frustration in forums (and rightfully so) than a happy customer to post a boring thread of how well everything went.

I once bought a neoprene winch cover from XT, they sent me a case of them!! Clearly they had a new guy working that day, I messaged the form rep and let him know the situation, he got me a prepaid label emailed over and I sent it back, minus the 1 I actually ordered of course. No real issues with them or Qtec, I just prefer ordering from Jason @Krawl offroad or Northridge depending on if they have a special going on.

I think it still boils down to the fact that people are more likely to complain when a problem arises than they are to sing the praises of good transactions.
If I went by the complaints I would not own a Jeep. Mine has been very good to me, so that is all I can judge Jeep by really.
I have not dealt with Extreme Terrain or Quadratec, but if they have what I want at a fair price I will buy from them. There are quite a few people singing the praises of Quadratec on this forum so I figure for the most part they are a good source for purchases.

I have purchased from both Extreme Terrain and Quadratek.

No problems at all. Even had issues with both places, shipping issues, wrong product etc... Both places were extremely helpful and the problem was resolved without me jumping through hoops.

This was a couple of years ago.

Hey there,

We do offer a forum discount for forum members.

For a discounted quote you can go about it 3 ways:

1) PM me with your first & last name, address, zip and the part numbers you would like to order. I'll reply back with a discounted quote if applicable. This takes 1-2 business days (or less) on average depending on PM volume.

2) E-mail my sales rep Rob at: [email protected] Tell him you're a Forum user and would like a discounted quote. He'll get that going for you. He typically responds within hours if it's Mon-Fri 8 am-5 pm Eastern.

3) Call my sales line at 1-800-745-2348. Tell them you're a Forum user and would like to place an order with your Forum discount. Their hours are Mon-Thurs 8 am-10 pm, Friday 8 am-9 pm, Saturday 9 am-5 pm.

Whichever you prefer works for us.

Have a great day,
Hailey

Hey there,

I am very sorry to see this and I do sincerely apologize for any poor customer service that you have experienced with us. Being on the forum you can always PM me and I can get it taken care of for you. With different manufacturers always coming out with new items we never want to give incorrect information if we are unsure about something with a product and the manufacturer would know best depending on what type of tech questions they are, we are always happy to find them out for you.

In regards to the pricing being inconsistent, due to fluctuation in costs, the competitors pricing and the pricing that the manufacturers set for us it is common to see changes.

We also do price matching and a forum discount.

Anyone should be able to help you with anything you have going on via phone, chat, or email; or feel free to PM us here on the forum.

Have a great day!
Hailey

I’m personal experienced:

XT - great site, nice CS, but slow to flow through (if at all). I will no longer purchase from them.

Quadratec - I have not bought much, but so far so good! Looking to buy more over time.

Northridge - spent most of my money with them, good CS the one time I needed it.

Morris- bought a few things from them. Great CS to work with! Had a lot of issues with a bumper, cause was shipping company and manufacturer. But there CS hung in there with me, and did right by me.

Manufacturers- CS at teraflex is unbeatable. It is pretty much to the point if teraflex makes an item in the category I am looking, the question is “ why would I not want the teraflex item?”

I bought from ET before I found Q on here. I liked the fact that Rick seemed to be on here all of the time.
I spent 20+ years in the auto parts industry in all facets of the business. Customer service is key.i sometimes ask myself if I expect too much by comparing them to the level I tried to always provide.
The last couple of big ticket items I've bought were from 4wp. I was referred to them by a buddy that knew a guy there and he always jumped through hoops to take care of me. I have to pay tax when buying from 4wp, but one item was going to take a week longer to get here from Q.
Never had an issue with CS from Q, ever!

I will never buy from them again. After being rudely treated again yesterday on the phone by 2 different people in CS at ET they can kiss my ass. I've filed a dispute with Paypal over their latest nightmare. They just simply don't give a damn, and parrot their corporate speak. The guy yesterday had the ballz to tell me that whenever the guy that handles lost shipments decides to come in for the day, he would try to remember to talk to him about my situation. They need a claw hammer to the head.

Quadratec: Nothing but good experiences
Extreme Terrain: Nothing but good experiences
Morris 4x4: Nothing but good experiences
North Ridge 4x4: Nothing but good experiences
Krawl Off-road: Nothing but good experiences
4 Wheel Parts: Nothing but good experiences

Q is my number 1 because the site is organized well laid out
Morris and NR are a toss up for 2 and 3
XT is 4th because it seems like more of a go to, to build a Brodozer
4 Wheel Parts will move up the list because I like to support brick and mortar but I prefer a business focused on Jeeps not UTVs, "rims" and truck nuts
Krawl is last because the site kinda sucks

Hailey,

Quadratec reps have stopped communicating with a good friend of mine and have simply dropped the ball in taking care of an issue that should have been a simple warranty issue that Mishimoto has already acknowledged is their problem and needs Quadratec's ok to refund the money.

The man has spent over $30,000 with your company and your companies refusal to even communicate with him is absurd.

He is not a big forum guy but I am. You can PM me for details. If Quadratec can straighten this out, I'll be a lot less critical. However, until then, I'm not spending another dime with Quadratec either and I have spent several thousand dollars already with you.

Quadratec has been good to me. Anyone can sell you a product, but good vendors deal with product issues in a fast and efficient manner.
Two different products I ordered from Quadratec had issues (both of which were manufacturer defects, nothing to do with Quadratec themselves). After reaching out to customer support, in both instances Quadratec immediately shipped replacement products and provided prepaid return labels.

This is why they are currently my vendor of choice. Also, it doesn't hurt that they are close to me and I essentially get next day shipping as a result

I usually have good luck with 4WP when I order online and pick up in the store or at the warehouse. Like anywhere else, their counter staff is hit and miss on how much they actually know and what they're capable of. I usually have to go in knowing the part numbers I need ahead of time. When it comes to older Jeeps (like my J10 pickup) their computers either don't have the right part numbers or they don't even have the parts listed. And if it's not in the computer, the counter guy doesn't know what to do. But I can usually find someone at the store who can help. So I end up saving the time and aggravation by ordering directly online.

I've ordered a number of things through Quadratec as well and haven't had any problems of note. Just the usual issues of the boxes being pretty beat up by the time they arrive but the parts inside have always been intact.

Hailey did follow up with a PM and in less than an hour has figured out the issue where other reps couldn't or wouldn't. While the issue isn't resolved yet (due to issues beyond everyone's control), I expect it will be shortly.

This is the customer service I expect and as long as all goes as we discussed in PM's, I will lift my self imposed embargo on Quadratec.

Thank you Hailey for doing the research to fix this issue.

This is really all any of us could ask for. Companies are run by people, people make mistakes. How those mistakes are handled, showing empathy and authentic concern for the customer, are what defines a company. How upper management can be so disconnected, or so cavalier, to how their people are handling these mistakes is just mind boggling. In this day and age, with the amount of data available to management, and how quickly this data can be collected and analyzed, how customers can still be treated so poorly is unbelievable.
