Factory remote start issue

So this is the problem. Key fob works great from a distance so battery is good locks and unlocks fine. Then tonight I use the remote start. Starts fine and then when I try to unlock I get nothing. It will not do anything it won't even cut off on the third click. I have to manually unlock and trip the security alarm every time. I hope someone can help cause I'm at a loss.

FWIW I'd still replace the battery before I did anything else.

Not sure, maybe disconnect the battery for 2 mins then try again.

I'll get a new battery today and give it a shot. If that doesn't work I'll disconnect the battery. Then I'll let u guys know the results. Thanks

In the year and a half I have had my JK that has happened twice.

It has nothing to do with the battery in the key fob. I say this because the first time it happened my JK was only 2minths old.

I chalked it up to a computer glitch and too many key fob presses remote starting and then unlocking way too fast and close together, as that's the only time it happened to me. I hit RS as I was walking towards it and immediately tried unlocking the door. Key fob become unresponsive.

It needs to be calibrated. Walk around the jeep three times while pressing the button. Remember, there are two models.. one you need walk clockwise and the other counter clockwise.

This is similar to the throtte calibration procedure.

Mine does this since new. I have replaced fob batteries, pulled the "keep alive" fuse and I can't create a permanent fix.

One thing that seems to help and I haven't had to trip the alarm since is "lock" before you "unlock". This is only an issue after us use the remote start. I then hit "lock" and then "unlock" once it reacts to the "lock" command.

Be nice if there was a permanent solution

By chance, you have NAVTOOL installed?

Ok I figured it out. This summer I did the sub mod and put in the amp. So I unhooked the amp from my battery and everything works. Checked the grounds and still same thing. Any thoughts?

Think what he meant is when the aftermarket sub is connected he has the problem. When he disconnected the sub it worked fine. If this is the case then obviously it's related to the sub wiring.

Correct. When the amp is hooked up is when I have problems. Just can't figure out why?

Rewire the sub, that would be a good start
