Freedom tops scratched on external portion

Hey there so one of my freedom tops got scratched pretty bad (external-outside). I was wondering if anyone has painted them? If so what kind of paint did you use? I appreciate any input that you may have on this.

I'd like to know too. Preferably without painting the whole panel.

This is a very common problem. The touch up paint works works as well as flat black paint pen if the scratches are relatively narrow. Even a Sharpie marker works but it is temporary.

Mine just got modded into stripe mode last weekend. I am not touching any of my trail badges up.

My JKU was a prior rental. When I bought it, the freedom tops were 60% scratched and nicked up.

I lightly sanded with a sanding sponge, cleaned with acetone and then repainted with spray paint in semi-gloss. I forget the type of Rustoleum exactly, but it was the 2 in 1 primer/paint mix. Has held up very nicely so far and after it dried, it actually matches (although newer, glossier and finished) the hardtop. I will go back this winter and retouch the hardtop roof....maybe, its not as bad as the freedom tops were!
