going to place order Wednesday... help

First off this is my first time buying a new vehicle. I wanted a 2012 but I got in to late to get what I wanted. I have signed up for tread lightly, but its not been 30 days yet(I do have my read lightly packet already). Will this be an issue or a non issue since by the time my Jeep gets here it will be way over 30 days?

Now for the important stuff I really need help with. I am stuck between dozer and crush, leaning more toward dozer but my wife loves crush. Also I am getting an unlimited Rubicon I thought it came with 4.10 gearing but I noticed on the options it was extra for dmf 4.10 rear axle ratio. What is the dmf?

Here's what I am planning on ordering
2013 Wrangler unlimited Rubicon
Dozer or crush
6sp
dual tops
Heated seats
Connectivity package
AC with auto control
Seat air bags
Slush mats
*4.10 if not standard*

Anything else I may regret not getting? Thanks in advance for any and all help.

You will be fine with Tread Lightly. Just tell them that you have it. You will have to produce it at pick up. I did the same thing and my new Jeep won't be here until early August.

You now have the option of 3.73 in the rubicon.

FYI gears are front and back.

If you plan on staying with the stock tire size 3.73's will do with the 3.6
Personally for $50 or whatever they are charging now for the upgraded 4.10's I would do it.
$1500-$2000 to change dif gears aftermarket.

I think all Rubicon's should have 4.10's anyhow

don't bother getting the auto AC controls. from what i've read, the general consensus is that it's junk, or at least not worth it. In my opinion, it's an option that isn't necessary in a topless vehicle.

Save you cash on the slush mats and climate control.

Buy the slush mats on your own (e-bay or Amazon)....as you don't get the standard mats with them...especially if you getting the slush mats after the price increase (now $95). It isn't like a takes a lot of work to "install" them.

Amazon.com: JEEP WRANGLER SLUSH MATS 3 PC SET 07-12 4 DOOR MOPAR: Automotive

I see you didn't list an auto tranny. That means 4.10's are indeed standard.

If I may ask....how do you plan on using this vehicle?

Thanks for the heads up on the mats, every dollar counts these days. I will be mainly using the Jeep just as my daily driver, but will take it to some minor trails. The majority of my off roading will be in my Rzr. My overall plan is to give the Jeep to my son in 5 years when he starts diving. I figure if I drive it for 5 years I will know what I am giving him and know its been well taken care of. I probably don't need a Rubicon but I figure if I don't get one I will regret it. Especially if either of us get into crawling.

Good luck, have fun, and make sure to post lots of pics! Can't wait to see what you're going to do with it.

Good luck. I came pretty close to getting a dozer. It's a nice color. The redhead in me came out though and I kept walking back to the green one.

You are spending some $$$$, do what I did and ask/tell the dealer to throw the mats in (I also did the grab handles and such and the dealer agreed).

oh man - you shoulda gone with CRUSH! But I have white, so don't pay any attention to me.

I'm still waiting for somebody to answer your question about 'dmf'. Are you sure that was in print?

You said you might go crawling, so stay with the 4.10 if you also plan to stay somewhere around stock on the tires, in the 32" - 33" range. If you do go with bigger tires and bigger gears in the future, the 4.10 gears may be easier to resell. It seems a lot of people on here got 3.21 or 3.73 and didn't really want to do that.

shoulda gone with CRUSH... it's not too late...

I really like crush but dozer is just different. I live in northeast TN so I am a huge UT fan (crush is really close to UT orange), but I think it would just be to much and I would grow tired of it. Around here I see that orange everyday in about every place I go. That's was how I finally made my choice lol.
