Question Going TOPLESS

Ok so I've owned a Jeep for about 4 months and I've yet to go 100% topless, I'm talking doors, hard cover...... living in So Cal we get rain about twice a year so that's not an excuse for me, just haven't done it.

So how long did it take you before you went commando on your rig?

Same. Probably a little sooner as the dealership was only 15 minutes from the house.

Soon as the weather allowed. Doorless is fantastic, I love jumping in and out of tight parallel parking spaces without worrying about hitting somebody's car with my door.

You might also consider some "footpegs" that attach to the lower door hinge and let you drive around with your foot out Harley-style. I've gotten a few people to smile when they see that.

One downside (well, unless you have exhibitionist tendencies) is you have no privacy -- everyone sitting in traffic with you gets to watch your antics. Worth it though! :-D

Once the doors come off you might get seat belt flapping, you can put a twist in them or put one of those seat belt pads over the vertical section.

Also, I don't keep my registration or proof of insurance in an unsecured location. The glove box and center console do lock with your ignition key, however they are easy for a thief to crowbar open (and then you have to replace a bunch of damaged plastic). I leave 'em unlocked and got a Tuffy trunk to secure items in the back. (Or, some people put a lock box under the drivers or passenger seat, or bolt on a lockable ammo can somewhere.)
