Wolf, I bought my first Jeep back in 1980. It was a black and Chrome version from the factory just like this one. A CJ 7 and I did love that jeep. It is however the last 4x4 I ever owned with Chrome.

Picked mine up used with less than 4k miles... wasn't too keen on the color at first (wife LOVED it), but couldn't pass up the deal.

The green has really grown on me, though. In the right lighting, it almost looks black:

The dark green is my #1 color, but the black looks so good.

Black cars are hard to keep clean. (jeep will only see mud on the weekend, clean on the week)

I guess i gotta go see them in person.

I had a '011 in black and had problems with it. Some kind of clanking noise in my left front tire while going over bumps. Also, the left front tire felt loose. I couldn't figure it out. I took it to the shop over 7 times and they said they can't find anything wrong with it. I took it in again for the last time, before I did, I drove it around the area to find spots where it will make the noise. I had the mechanic drive with me and he heard it. Still couldn't fix it. Anyhow, I traded it in for a '12 Wrangler in green. I love this color and pretty much everyone that has a Wrangler in NY has a black one.

Natural Green - it looks black in some lights, green in others. Problem solved. They've stopped production, but you can still find them.

Check out my Jeep Profile for some pics.

Go with Black, you'll be lucky to see a Dark Green before Xmas due to their current production schedule...

I agree with ndrugby, if you're really split on black or green, go with the natural green if you can find one that meets your specifications. It looks black at night and when its overcast but when the sun hits it, you see green. You could also wait for black forest green if you want to order but you may be waiting for a while. Either way you go, they are both dark colors and will be equally difficult to keep clean.
