Question Half of a rear seat in JK 2-door?

Does anyone know of half rear seats for a 2016 JK 2-door? I wish I had a little more storage room when the rear seat is in place. My back seat will usually carry either a person OR our dog, and either sits on the passenger side, because access to the rear seat is on that side. So, with a third human or our dog on board, the full OEM rear seat is not needed. The driver side space could be used to carry things that currently do not fit, or are awkward to put on that side of the seat.

We are all familiar with the 50-50 or 40-60 foldable rear seats in SUV's and wagons, and that's what got me thinking. I realize the folding mechanism for the OEM rear seat may not work with a half seat, but I would like to know if anyone else knows of, or has tried, a mod that addresses this situation.

This seems to be such a no brainer and much money to make. Not sure why FCA or Mopar parts never capitalized on this.

my brothers Tahoe had a 2 piece 3rd row seat I wish that was the set up for the 2 door jeeps. way easier to take in and out and would also be able to do the set up you are talking about. I also would love to have a 3rd seat and still have the extra space.

Id be all over something like this if done well. That thread avout the bucket seat in the rear is interesting but i wouldn't want a full bucket back there. Maybe a short bucket. Hmm...

There is no reason you could not cut down a stock seat, do a little welding, add floor mounts and have a single seat that functions just like the stock seat. You could even add captains arms.
