Hinge pin extentions

I bought some pins on Amazon. My question is, do you put it on the top hinge or bottom? I was thinking the bottom because that's maybe a bit harder to line up? I don't have much trouble without using the pins, I just thought it might be more of a no brainer with the pin extentions. They were only $5 on Amazon for 5 of them.

I have mine on the bottom hinges. Then I get the bottom hinge lined up with the pin and the top is easy to maneuver in. I guess it is probably personal preference though.....I think it is a little easier to see where the pin and the bottom hinge are.

The directions on mine said to put them on the top hinge, so that's what I did.

I've only had the doors off and on once since installing, but they were easy to line up.

That's what I was thinking. Thanks

Now I got this from someone's post in the cheap mod thread. I haven't put them on yet. Maybe tonight. So don't blame me if you order and they don't fit.

I've been looking into the American Outlaw pins as well. But if these pins work for 1/4 the cost...I'm all about that! Please let us know if they fit/work!

I don't understand what these are supposed to do for you... Can someone explain?

I got the same thing only ordered from EBAY. I haven't used them yet though as I already had switch to my half door before they came in. They fit just fine though. I had to wait a couple of weeks for them to arrive from China though

They make it easier to line up both hinges. Stock, both top and bottom hinges are the same, so you have to line up both at the same time. By extending one hinge pin you can line up one and then the other. It is easier that way. I get the logic of putting the extension on the lower pin, but it would not surprise me if putting the extension on the upper pin worked better as gravity may help align the lower pin once the upper pin is lined up.
When I get mine I will certainly try both ways.

Ah, that makes sense, thanks!

I guess being big & tall has its advantages... I would have never thought this was a thing people needed. I use one hand to hold the door up and one to line up the pins and the doors slide right on! If one were shorter or smaller in general than my big a$$ I can see how installing the full steel doors could be a PITA

I'm the one that posted it so I can confirm they fit.

I'm pretty tall and lining up the hinges to me has nothing to do with height and everything to do with being perfect while hanging on to a decent amount of weight.

The beauty of the pins are you only have to line up one at a time, rather than both simultaneously......exponentially easier. Have you ever had both hinge pins not line up the first time....or second time.....or etc? These elimnate that.

Buy a set and try them, even though you are tall. You'll see what we are talking about

I can confirm that they fit. I put them on my lower hinges. I'm going to try them that way for now
