Homemade Front Coil Spacer?

I saw this on the TJ forum, and have thought of it before. Next week I will be with a few mechanics who can fabricate nearly anything! I HATE the rake stance! I would like to make some spacers to put in the front out of some sort of metal.

Does anybody know the dimensions of one? Im wanting at least 1" in the front just to get rid of the rake. Any suggestions?

I would buy one, but i have 2 reasons not to.

1- i like the feeling of saying "yeah, i made that."

2- my dad isnt being cool and wouldnt let me put it on. If i make it, put it on, and show him they work well he might be ok with it.

Totally understand the make vs. buy thing. But how about buy it, put it on and show him it works? Then there's no concern that you didn't miss something that the current manufacturers have covered.

The rake helps with mpg, that's the whole intention. Is your dad ok with you hurting that?

Just enjoy the vehicle as-is.

Agree. If you're not old enough to make the decision yourself it's probably wiser to listen to your dad. Plenty of time for moddin' it later!
