Hood Protector Tape

I installed a Bushwacker hood protector yesterday that attaches to the hood with some very aggressive tape. I messed up and the part was not positioned properly and I would like to remove it and try again to install properly.

Are there any tricks to getting the tape to release?

This tape is the stickiest and strongest I have ever encountered.

The Jeep is only a week old and really don't want to mess up the paint trying to get it off.

Thanks

A heat gun or hair dryer will soften the adhesive.

Whenever I removed badges, dental floss and Goo gone. Use a hairdryer or let it sit in the sun to heat up first.

Use a heat gun or hair dryer to help soften the tape/adhesive. Then use fishing line or dental floss to get under the hood protector and cut through the tape. To remove any remaining tape/adhesive use acetone or nail polish remover.
