Hotheads Headliners Review

I installed my set of black hotheads headliners over the weekend. (I will post photo's later) It has only been a few days, and I am already 100% happy with my purchase.

1. Easy to install
2. Installation took about 2 hours, including the hushmat strips and sanding.
3. High quality feel and finish.
4. High quality fabric.
5. Fits like a glove.
6. The "premium" Alpine stereo sounds as it should, premium.
7. Interior is slightly more quite.

I reviewed all of the different headliners in the market. This was the only one I purchased without actually seeing the product. If I did a side by side comparison, these would have easily been the product of choice.

If you are thinking of purchasing a headliner, this is the way to go.

Agreed on the Hothead's, I installed a set this past weekend as well. They are really nice. The other thing I did was install a Flowmaster cat back set up. That was a 1/2 day project. I'm happy with that now that is in. What a pain removing the stock exhaust.

Had them on my first Jeep and have them on my second. The customer service is fantastic! The product is well made and I like that the fabric isn't as prone to attracting dog hair!

Why this over the OEM headliner?

I purchased hotheads as an impulse buy since the company is local. the owner showed me several other brands and the difference in thickness and materials used. There's really not a "brand A beats brand B". For its intended purpose, all do a great job at insulating.

x2 on the Hothead Liner. Have had them on last three JK's. Put the hushmat on with this one and even better. Multiple color choices. Customer service from Mark is second to none. Had trouble with rear panel coming loose on the 2009 when they first came on the market. They sent me new 3M tape no charge and that solved issue. Cooler interior temps, stereo sounds much better, appearance is great. I did not need to look at another brand when I knew the quality of these.

Did you paint the interior of your hardtop before you put in the Hotheads Liner? Or did you keep it white?

Any pictures to share?

I've never seen anyone paint it. I think it looks nice with the black/white.

Actually, I just painted my two hardtop panels this past weekend. I can't stand the white with my all black interior. I'll see if I can't get a picture of the painted panels with the headliners in posted in the next day or so. Didn't pay to have it done though, used good old Krylon, someone else on the forum did the same.

Edited to add: I saw someone on the forum do it, here's a link to their picture. https://www.wranglerforum.com/f274/he...ml#post3267119

For anyone who orders these, watch this video on installation. The tip regarding the blue painters tape is fantastic.

I have had the Hotheads with the rear window and hushmat option for about a year and also agree a quality product with great customer service. Mark runs discounts on them from time to time. I did paint my interior with a Krylon color to get a pretty close match to the Commando Green exterior as the charcoal color of the Hotheads against the white hardtop interior was not to my liking. Sorry the pictures are not that great-taken with a cheap cell phone!

I put mine in after Labor Day. It was really easy and they look great. Help insulate the top and stereo sounds better. Wish I would have had them for my drive to the coast and back. I will next road trip.
