It was suppose to be 0.00 at time of purchase... Well, that's what i told to my wife and myself. 4 years later, i just tell myself "money can always be replaced".

Close to $10K if not over just this year. Core 44 front axle with ARB and RCV's, Poison Spyder cage, driveshafts, wheels, beadlocks and balancing of the 37's (no, even winning them, they are not free). Control arms, spacer lift, radios, rock lights, shocks and god knows what else. Then there was new 35's last fall, bumpers, etc. Yeah, I probably have spent close to $20K in mods since (I) took possession full time. Bought it for Momma so it only started getting modded in ernest the last 2 years. I only paid $25K for it new in 2012.

Now it you want to count the cost of the vehicle I had to buy her for me to get the JK full time, add another $40K to the price.

I'm well into 5 figures on more than one Jeep in my current fleet. That doesn't count the ones I no longer have.

So maybe 1% (or less) of the driving public can recognize the value of a modded out Jeep Wrangler. Some rigs posted in this thread are quite obvious to be modified, even to the 1%. Others are not so obvious but the $$s are still in it. Mine is over $12,000 deep now and does not really show. When creating this thread I thought my mod money was up there but now realize not so much as compared to others.

I gave my wife the Jeep for mothers day 2 years ago. For mothers day this year I told her to get it built the way she wanted.

$24,000 later...

Now I drive it more than she does.

I started with a sport and a 10k budget. I’m over that now.

AEV Lift
Wheels
Tires
Gears with LSD front and rear
Poison Spyder front and rear bumpers
Warn winch
Rigid off road lights with sPOD
Ham radio

It certainly adds up!

Spyderweb shade
New soft top
Cobra CB
SPod
Assortment of led lights
Rock Krawler 2.5 X-Factor w/ Bilsteins
35x12.50 Nitto Trail Grapplers
17” Pro Comps
LUX rock lights
Front and rear Rubi axles
Sleeved, trussed, gusseted front axle
Drag link flip

That’s all I can think of off the top of my head. Well past the 30k mark in add-ons! Just wish I could transfer all of it over to a new JL 2 door!

I am about $6K'ish and won't go much higher.. My build is pretty much done and dormant as I have not been updating my build thread with anything new recently...

I may do a few more small things here and there but for the most part, it's done and where I wanted it to be..

To date:

-Rugged Ridge Door Sill Guards $40
-Alpine i207 WRA $815
-Brandmotion Backup Camera $175
-Rock Hard Winch Plate $170
-Warn m8000 Synthetic $870
-Daystar .75" Front Leveling Kit $30
-Bolt Hood Lock $60
-10A Hood (with paint and install) $1400
-Bedtred CBTJK114 $620
-ARB CKMA12 (with EVO mount and air accessory kit) $320
-Plasmaglow switch and grommet $30
-Staun automatic tire deflators $70
-VDP stubby ends $65
-G2 wheel spacers $150
-Bartact seat covers $488
-Bestop Trektop NX Twill $870

My son who is building a 2017 Dodge RAM 3500 dually on the other hand is almost at $30K.... Yikes!

Same here. I think I will break into 6 figures if and when I do the V8 conversion. And I know that the next trailer I will buy will put me into 6 figures.

Oh geez, probably $4-5K on my '12 JK. Lift, tires, LEDS, new soft top and probably other random things.
I started over with this JKU. I think I am at $1400. This willys had what I wanted stock so most of that number is tires. I tell myself dont ask questions you dont want answers to.

I got off cheap since i chose to run a 34Ē tire no regear & no Tons, even though it would be cool i just donít need it . All my stuff claims to be American made except my aluminum fender flares, still need to install the rear & my yetti tie-rod . Iíve estimated around 13,450 in mods and she rides better than factory stock. Iíve installed everything myself so thatís in parts.

I will just say these 2 things...

1. I have more in mods than I payed for the Jeep and I do all the work myself.

2. I have 1 mod alone that cost well over $9,999 never mind combined!

It is an expensive hobby but if it makes you happy and you aren't juggling money around to make sure you keep the lights on then go for it! You can't take it with you...

Don't add them! DON"T EVER ADD THEM!

2 reasons..

1. It will make you sick.
2. Plausible Deniability!!! You can honestly make up wildly low assumptions to what you have spent if anyone (like a wife) ever asks and it isn't a lie!
