How stiff is your side wall?

We have a tube frame crawler that is lighter than jeep with 37" fat tires. Tires have specs on everything from tread depth to date of birth for them--no one -but no one rates sidewall flex.

We run 0-3 lbs in 37" tires and see no flex.
it rides like it has just wheels and no tires.

since these tires cost more than a skid of toilet paper -we cant afford guessing.

Not a precise spec but the load range rating of course has some relationship to sidewall stiffness and flex. But problem is most big tires tend towards load range E which is meant for pretty heavy trucks. They're overkill even for a heavy JKU, much less your tube rig. I haven't shopped for 37s but if there are any that are load range C (or at least D),that would be a good place to narrow your search. What rating are your current 37s?

Mickey thompson sells a few 37's with a D load raiting. Look over there site, see it any of there tires would work.

What tires are you running now? I assume they are bias ply, given the pressures you are running. What size wheels?

Are you cleaning the obstacles you're trying?

Absent any other info, run stickies and don't worry about flex.

It it helps, my mates with 3500lb buggies run 42" bias ply tires. The one who wheels the hardest runs used stickies of whatever brand he finds, and is generally only stopped when upside down. The other runs Rockers on 16.5" Hummer wheels at 3-4psi (same as I run on my 4600lb 4runner, though mine are 39.5s), and does fine on the stuff we run. (e.g. Pritchett, etc)

Look for a C rated tire. Look into the specialty brands like Maxxis, Micky Thompson, Interco. You could also look into used racing tires from BFgoodrich. I see the KR2's selling for as low as $100 each that have a few races on them but good tread then. The Baja tread uses a soft rubber and then they have a stickie that uses a really soft tread that is used for crawling. I run the new KR3 (Baja ) that I got for $900 (set of 4) with just one race on them. Great tires that hook up great in the rocks and actually run down the road smooth even though they are not dot rated.

Just curious are you finding these on Ebay or is there an actual outlet for them? thanks. Might be fun to have a set if cheap enough.

Ok. What about the other questions? Are you able to clear what you try? Is it a trail rig, only? What axles? I ask because stickies will expose weak spots.

Lastly, let's see a pic of your rig, preferably wheeling.
