Hows your JK for rattles?

I must say I am impressed. I just turned 29k on the 2015 and its still tight with NO rattles or squeaks. Offroading has been slow and minimal but I live in the land of potholes. We don't just have hubcaps and trim rings next to our potholes we also have bumpers and ball joints so daily the roads are rough. I've been told Wranglers are notorious for rattles. What about yours?

2012 and does not rattle anywhere. It does sometimes have some weather stripping squeaking from rear gate when cold but that is it. Everything will make some noise when hitting wash board, etc. but that is to be expected.

I live out in the country a mile off the blacktop with some washboarding; 2012 doing pretty good with minimal, if any, noises/rattles.

Only rattle has been tailgate latch being pushed toward front which makes the backend sound like its falling off which can be fixed with realignment or electrical tape, or both.

Both of my Jk's are solid. Only minor...Slight popping from the freedom panel on the 10A. But that tends just to be human error on how they get aligned when I take him out put them back in cuz it doesn't do it all the time but other than that zero issues.

When I traded the '14 JKUR in last year, it had 107K on the meter and if I took all my junk out of it, it still sounded like the day it was new. In fact, it was better. Up to the day I had my first replacement windshield installed, the factory had built in a wind whistle that drove me crazy but the new windshield fixed that. No other noises or rattles. THAT is one thing I will say about FCA, they don't like rattles any more than we do. OTHER things, not so not so picky.

Just traded in the 16 JKR and it was doing great.

The 17 JKURR I picked up though has a serious glove box rattle that appears to be from missing a couple bumpers on the backside of the door. If anyone has a part number lmk, my googles turn up nothing wrangler specific! It’s otherwise all together and the door closes just fine. It doesn’t look like the latch mechanism has any adjustment for this problem.

2014 and I think all mine are self inflicted, by taking the interior apart and putting it back together too many times.

2017 jku big bear with 33k miles. Only rattles I hear are when my soft top is down. The pivot piece/clip that connects to the windshield loops. The other is the bows hitting irear wheels wells. The first rattle is unavoidable. The second is self inflicted, as I pulled the carpets out shortly after purchasing my Jeep

I get the occasional creak or rattle usually weather dependent. Warm weather seems to creak less. I have found most noises. Most of the time its something that I have inside the Jeep and not the Jeep itself.

2017 JKUR with just over 50k. Only Jeep noise is the wind

OK, I took the freedom panels out for a drive once and they squeaked for a few days until they worked themselves back into place and are now silent again.

I do have flashlights, umbrella, large knife and other things under the rear seat that rattle. Even my 9mm wrapped in cloth in the lock box rattles on acceleration and rapid deceleration. Not the gun itself, but the drawer has some slight movement.

Each time I take off for a long drive a try to secure things better to remove those rattles, but daily driving I have been getting more lazy and letting them continue.

2016, no rattles that are the Jeep's fault. The bigger tires caused some rattle up front after wearing out the tie rod, u-joints, and ball joints, and the there is a distinct click when I grab the grab handle and climb in that I can't find.

Yeti HD was installed and dealer replaced u-joints under warranty, which has quieted it down. Ball joints are next, probably next spring if I can help it. Dynatracs will go in and I might see about upgraded u-joints as well, since the axles have to come back out anyway for the ball joints. Ball joints were not covered by warranty, otherwise I'd have done them as well while it was in the for u-joints and torque converter.

2017 22,000 miles. Used to be very quiet. Then I pulled the dash install speakers, clean up some messes left by the PO, and added an Appolointech switch pod (the one above the center mirror). Creaked a bit after that.

Then I took it on a couple of week-long wilderness trips with a lot of washboard and some heavy flexing while loaded down with gear.

Now it creaks and squeaks a lot from the dash and A-pillars. One of these days I will pull the dash and A-pillars back off and line everything with foam tape. Until then I'll just live with it.

Its a Jeep. And a lot quieter than any of the other 3 Jeeps I've owned in the past (60's, 80's, and 90's vintage).

2013 JKUR only rattles were from front DV8 fender liners on the highway. Some felt pucks (designed for under table legs) from Home Depot were the $1.89 solution.
Occasional squeak from rubber stop supporting 37 rear tire on carrier, but a little cleaning solves that.

Other than that, pretty quiet.
No whining now...

In my '16, when I ht a big bump, I get the odd creak from where the bottom of the hardtop bolts on to the body. (Especially when it's really cold). Otherwise I have no issues at all.

The only time l notice any squeaks is when the freedom tops are removed.

Just purchased a 2017 Wrangler Unlimited. There is a squeak or two coming from somewhere that I just can't pinpoint. It is driving me crazy. It isn't constant, but any normal bump that I hit will do it.

2016 JKU and I've just noticed a rattle of some sort coming from the front passenger side. It isn't really bad but it's annoying because I can't find the source. It sounds almost like a little metal ball wobbling around. But it isn't constant or predictable.

2014, the only off sound mine makes is coming from the passenger side rear sway bar bushing. It creaks a lot.

My 2014 JK bought in May 2019 is very tight. Only rattle is from stuff in dash tray and passengers. I am very impressed and pleased!
