I know we all know this but.....

So I'm heading back home on my way from work today and on the way in I get a call saying there is a huge fire around our family farm and they need help fighting it. Well when I get into town its just geting dark and I have to drive down about 10 miles of dirt roads covered in smoke. I found out just how sorry the srock headlights are!! Then when I get to the farm I had to ferry folks down to the fire line but I couldnt see squat for the tall grass and smoke I was driving through. Looks like Ill be upgrading my headlights and geting 4 KC's sooner than later.

I don't think you'll find anything that cuts through heavy smoke!

A quick upgrade would be to replace the stock bulbs with H13 Phillips Xtreme 80% brighter bulbs. They are the easiest upgrade without having to change out the entire system and run relays to make the system work. It was a great improvement and one of my first mods. The Sylvania's are just not as good as the Phillips but the Phillips are harder to find. Not at most big chains. Local part stores sometimes carry them but Amazon and Ebay both have them for sale.

Check out Rigid Industries LED lights and see what they do on YouTube. I'm going that route cause they will be better and cheaper in the long run (bulb replacement quality of fixtures and amp draw).

For the smoke, I wonder how amber/yellowish lights would work. Just like fog and dust, I would think that the headlights may just reflect off of the smoke. Just a thought.

I put LUMINICS, HDM yellow in the head lites and KC Daylighters for the windshield (OFF-ROAD-only) and 55W Navigators for the bumper driving lights

You have to be careful with the windshield lights--not legal in most states for hiwys--
